TSG Sneak Peek -- Holiday Tags

Hello and welcome to There She Goes Sneak Peek & Blog Hop Challenge, everyone!
If you came from Julie's blog, you are on a right track. If not, you may want to start from TSG Blog for playing the fun event with us :)

Today's Sneak Peek is Holiday Tags -- Just what we need before we send off the Holiday cards and gifts!! This set was designed to work with 1 ½”x 2 ¾” sticker address labels so that you can make your own custom gift tags! Not only that but the images in this set are also large enough that you can use them to make matching cards!! There is even a birthday sentiment included in this set so that you can use it all year long :) There are a total of 18 stamps included in this 6x8 set and it will sell for $23.

I made a simple and quick gift box and card set. The box was used Mini Pizza Box template. The little gift and candy cane images from the set was colored with Copics and adhered on the stamped label ( I stamped two different images to create the label) using dimensional adhesives. The glitter are already pasted on the both of turquoise and striped designer papers so I could make "merry & bright" project w/o fighting with glitter powder, lol.

- So, do you want to win Holiday Tags sets??
All you have to do is to go to each of the Trendsetter’s Blogs and leave a comment on their Holiday Tag Blog Hop Challenge post. After you have finished commenting, return to the TSG Blog to add your name to the Mr. Linky at the bottom of the Blog hop challenge post. A winner will be chosen randomly using a random number generator to receive their very own set of Holiday Tags. The winner will be announced Saturday during the Release Party Chat.

Please give her a warm welcome! We are so thrilled to have Carol host with us. She is challenging us to themed cards. Since this week we celebrate Thanksgiving as well as kick off the Christmas Season, Carol is challenging us to Thank You and/or Christmas themed cards. You can choose one theme or create one of each. And I stamped the background with Memento angel pink & cantaloupe, and sponged with Memento dandelion using the image from the same set. The greeting is from Seasonal Wreaths set.
The backpanel was also stamped with Memento sweet plum, rose bud, angel pink, cantaloupe, tangelo and rich cocoa using the one of the flourish images. The purple mat was dry embossed using CB embossing folder and machine stitched. The satin ribbon and gold pearls were attached to finish the card.

Happy Friday everyone~
Thanksgiving is just around the corner, isn't it? My kids are out of school next week...I hope it's a good thing, lol. We are also heading to Dallas for my daughter Kimberly's cheer competition this weekend so I'm kind of glad they are not going to school on Monday at least, hee hee.

Anywho, I have a card I made for There She Goes challenge 29 (TSG29), suggested by this week's Trendsetter of the week, Jackie. She is challenging us to use stitching into a card/project. FTTC42 -- Silke's Sketch

Hello and happy Tuesday, everyone~
It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC42) ! This week Silke is our challenge host. She is challenging us to a sketch she has designed. As far as sketches go, there is not much of an explanation necessary. You can turn it and modify the shapes to fit your size card, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. Thanks for a great sketch, Silke!!! We cannot wait to see what you all create!

I started with the newly released set, Christmas Tea for today's challenge. I have a quite few friends who love teas and I know they will love the Holiday cards using the images from the set!
I stamped the tea cup image and the sentiment with Memento tuxedo black. Then I sponged the mat with baja breeze and garden green. The cup was stamped separately again and colored with Copic markers - G85, 82 from Field Collection, R29 from Fuschia Collection and C3, C1 from Cool Neutrals Collection. Then I simply mounted it on the stamped image with dimensional adhesives.

The metalic red mat from Metalic Board Assortments and the acetate mat were embossed with CB embossing folder. These are embossed beautifully! The designer paper was from the retired SU papers....I think I use the paper set a lot these days because all of my recent cards are looked same :P I finally decided to quit hoarding them and I'm so proud of myself, lol.
The flower with brad, ribbon, gold pearls and photo corner were embellished to complete the card.

Stamps: Christmas Tea (Flourishes)
Paper: Metalic board, classic white (Flourishes), garden green, baja breeze, retired desginer paper (SU),
Card Blanks clear (ShortCuts)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko), baja breeze, garden green (SU), Copic markers collection - Field, Fuschia, Cool Neutrals
Accessories: flowers, brad, ribbon, gold pearls
Tools: Nestabilities, border punch, photo corner punch, CB embossing folder

KS Monday -- Nov 16th, 2009

Happy Monday, everyone! It's another time for Kitchen Sink Monday!!
I made this easel card for today's KS Monday. I don't know why I waited so long to make one until now...it's very fun and easy!! (oh yes! I love the word "EASY", lol) I used this and this as a reference. Thank you Penny for the wonderful tutorial pages.
My finished card is 6" x 6" instead of 4" x 4". I wanted the word to stand out from the card so I layered 3" x 6" mat on the bottom half of the card front instead of using 6" x 6" mat.

The chipboard letters were paper pieced with the retired SU designer papers and edged with VersaMagic gingerbread. The Poinsettia flowers and the sentiment were stamped using 3 Step Poinsettia.

These are the steps I did for each image:
(poinsettia) 5th - Memento rich cocoa, 4th - Memento rhubarb stalk, 3rd - Memento lady bug, 2nd - lady bug (1 x stamp off), repeat, 1st - Memento cantaloupe (1 x stamp off), repeat
(leaves) 4th - rich cocoa, 3rd - cottage ivy, 2nd - bamboo leaves, 1st - Memento new sprout, repeat

Remember, you can always use the discount promotion code "MAKIKO10KSS" to get 10% off while you shop at KSS store .

The ribbon & pearls are used for the embellishments and the snowballs.

Sketch Challenges

Hello everyone~
I have two cards to show you today using two sketch challenges that were posted this week. The both sketches are so wonderful and I will definitely use them again in the future!

This card was used the sketch from Mojo Monday (MOJO111). I used the newly released set, HSH Holiday Additions from There She Goes and colored the cornucopia image with Copics. The designer papers are from the retired SU designer papers. The piercing details were made with my sewing machine....I was going to do zig-zag stitches but I messed up during sewing :p
The flower embellishment and brown pearls were added to complete the card.

The next card was used the sketch from SCS Sketch Challenge (SC253). I created the card using Multi Step Gift from Kitchen Sink Stamps. The set is included the words stamps so that you can mix and make different greetings & sentiments! Since the big panel was used for the sketch, I dry embossed the scalloped circle with Netabilities and sponged the inside with baja breeze ink to make the gift box stand out. The triangle pieces were made with CB Vintage die and cut the shape in half diagonally.

These are the steps I did for each image:
(gift box) 1st - Memento lady bug (1 x stamp off), 2nd - lady bug, 3rd - Memento rhubarb stalks, 4th - SU bravo burgundy
(bow) 1st - Memento bamboo leaves (1 x stamp off) , 2nd - bamboo leaves, 3rd - Memento cottage ivy, 4th - SU handsome hunter

When you use the discount promotion code "MAKIKO10KSS", you will save 10% every time you shop at KSS store .
