KS Monday -- Aug 31 , 2009

Hello and Happy Kitchen Sink Monday, everyone!!
I hope your weekend was great!! My weekend was busy but nice one. Troy came home safely 2 days ago after 6 weeks in Colorado. It was very nice all of us spend a time together again :) We have a couple DIY things to do around the house before Troy leaves for another job site, plus all after school activities our kids are involved. I hate to think I may not to get stamping and blogging so much this week but I really need to organize my house and put my family first! (well, Family comes first before anything...most of the time ;P YKWIM??)

Anyhow, I found a cute dress template a little while ago and decided to try for today's project with using Multi Step Berries. You can download the template HERE. It was easy enough for me! (I don't like using template too many cuttings required, lol) So, I'm sure it's easy breezy for you, too! It's also a wonderful project to do when you don't have much time!!

I masked the nest and stamped the little bird 3 times. The tree were stamped with VersaMark & brown ink, then embossed with clear EP. And I sponged around the tree, then stamped the leaves to create the center mat.

The next set is called Ice Cream. The ice cream deserts images with the perfect sentiments will make your friends smile for sure! The images were colored with Copics...and of course I had to do double scoops with cherry on the top :):):)!! I stamped the sentiments with shaping them to fit the scalloped mat.
I thought the card needed something more....so I stamped the word "Enjoy!" from Let's Get Together.

It was wrapped with the brown gathered ribbon (I recomend to use strong glue to attach) and the bow embellishment was added.

TSG Sneak Peek - Fairy Good Day

Hello everyone~
Welcome to There She Goes September Sneak Peek & Blog Hop Challenge!! If you came from Julie's blog, I'm the next! If not, you may want to hop over to Jessica's blog to start this fun challenge ;) You can find out the detail about the challenge is on TSG blog.

All new sets are going to release on Sunday, Aug 30th!! Woohoo!! Today's sneak peek set is called Fairy Good Day, designed by TSG new designer, Sheena Sy. I've had so much fun with stamping these "fairy" cute & whimsical images! Not only it's a great set for cards, but it's also perfect for scrapbooking of those photos with kid(s) & their lost tooth. Yep, I have some...now no excuse to scrapbook them ;)

For my project, I made a card & an altered box. A child can put his/her tooth or two in the box for Tooth Fairy :):):) I found this blue box for the dollar sections at JoAnn's about a couple months ago and it was just perfect for this project!! The tooth image was stamped and coated with Glossy Accents by Ranger. All layeres were cut out with Nestabilities. The ribbon, buttons, dew drops, and Stickles were used for embellishing the box. I stamped the cute peom (from the set) inside of the box. Can you see I scratched "pocket" and wrote "box" instead??
The matching card can be Thank You card from the fairy to a child when she comes to take the tooth or can always be sent to someone special :) The fairy image was colored with Copics and accented with Stickles, along with the buttons & dew drops are used for embellishing the card.

Stamps: Fairly Good Day (There She Goes)
Paper: bashful blue, certainly celery (SU), desginer paper (DCWV), white cardstock (PTI)
Ink: Memento texudo black, VersaMagic gingerbread (Tsukineko), certainly celery (SU), Copic markers
Accessories: ribbon. dew drops (Michael's), buttons (PTI), Glossy Accents, Stickles (Ranger), box (JoAnn's)

Tools: Nestabilities (Spellbinders), Scor-Pal

Now, it's another hop time!! The next hop is our favorite stamper, Silke!! When you finish leaving your comment to EACH trendsetter's Fairy Good Day post, go back to TSG blog and enter your name to Mr. Linky on the bottom of the blog hop challenge post. One lucky person of the challenge will win Fairy Good Day set!! The winner will be announced at TSG blog on Monday, Aug 31st.

I don't hope you think I'm a terrible mom but I was counting this day was coming for a long time, :P Have you ever seen Staple's CM? That's exactly how I feel :):):) Can you tell my stampin' mood is also back to school??

I used 4 sets for today's card - School Days, Butterflies, Kittens & Pup, and Mix it Up!. I cut off the images with using the scalloped square Nestabilities die as masking on the panels. I put a mouse pad under the panels and stamped each step a little harder to the edges so that the impressions were shown nicely. The colors are reminded of old school style so I added ink distressing and the vintage embellishments to keep the style. I hope you will like it.

Hello everyone~
I was so excited when I found out today's Featured Stamper from SCS (FS133) was Joanne (SCS name - jojot)!! She is my fellow There She Goes Trendsetter and a super fabulous stamper!! Honestly I thought she was already featured before...Big congrats Joanne!!

There are many cards I wanted to case...but I chose this one. I was thinking about casing it for a while... Well, today was the perfect day to do it, wasn't it?
I used the different stamp (Flourishes) but still same flower ;) I changed to the desinger paper for the background, brown cardstock (I was just short on black...), the different corner design, and I added the ribbon.

Stamps: I Love Roses (Flourishes)
Paper: cool caribbean(SU), dark chocolate, Bitty Dot dp (PTI), classic white (Flourishes)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tuskineko), Copic markers - Flourishes Poppy Collection, YG99, YG97, YG95, R37, BG13, BG11

MOJOFRIDAY Sketch

Hello everyone~
Yippie!! I finished this card within the same day the sketch was posted!! Anything possible if you try your best, lol. This sketch is from Mojo Maker, Teresa (MOJOFRIDAY) of Mojo turns 100.

The stamps are all from There She Goes, Bloom set. The flower image was stamped with VersaMark and then heat embossed with white EP. It was colored with Copics and trimmed. The same image was stamped randomly on the dp background. The center mat was a little too open for the sentiment. So, the oval mat was added and then the sentiment was stamped :)

FTTC29 & MOJOMARIA sketch

Hello everyone~
It's already Thursday?! The weekend is around the corner isn't it?
I made this card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge 29 (FTTC29) and Mojo Monday Maria's sketh (MOJOMARIA). I really wish I was fast like time flies but when it comes to challenges, I'm a little slow like a turtle :P I hope I can finish the rest of Mojo sketches by the end of the week.....

FTTC29 is a color challenge with red, olive, and black with one neutral color. There are many Flourishes sets that work very well with those colors and I picked Strawberries this time. I hope you are still enjoying seeing summer cards, lol.
The images were colored with Prismacolor pencils and then blended with OMS. I also used Twinkling H2Os to added shadows. As you see, some of the images are extended from the frame. I love that the strawberry bush looks like it is growing :)

Stamps: Strawberries (Flourishes)
Paper: riding hood red, kiwi kiss, basic black, Bella Rose dp (SU), white cardstock (PTI), classic white (Flourishes)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tuskineko), Prismacolor pencils, Twinkling H2Os chestnuts brown
Accessories: ribbon (PTI), rhinestone

KS Monday -- Aug 17 , 2009

Happy Monday and welcome to another Kitchen Sink Monday, everyone~
When I was thinking which set(s) I want to use for the KS Monday, I noticed this cute teddy bear from Get Well Teddy set was looking at me so quietly...(I'm glad he didn't talk... It would be freaky lol)
Anyway it's always nice to have "Get Well Soon" or "Sympathy" cards in hand because you never know when you need them, right?
Speaking of the sympathy cards, my dear MIL asked me to make a sympathy card so I gave her 5 or 6 cards so that she could send them when she needed in the future. I thought those cards were last for the next 6 months to 1 year...Well, sadly and coincidentally it ended up she had to use all of them within 2 months! She told me I could give only 1 card at time from now on :P

I picked bright and fun colors for this card to cheer someone up. I placed the bear like he was sitting on the flower stem. The sentiment was stamped around the image and I think it made the card look softer.

The image was stamped with these steps:
(teddy bear) 1st - creamy caramel (stamping off), 2nd - creamy caramel, 3rd - close to cocoa, 4th - chocolate chip, (flower) 1st - pink pirouette, 2nd - riding hood red (stamping off), 3rd - riding hood red, (stem) 1st - kiwi kiss, 2nd - old olive

Remember, when you use a promotion code "MAKIKO10KSS", you will get 10 % discount of your entire purchase when you shop at KSS store!

Stamps: 3 Step Get Well Teddy (KSS)
Paper: riding hood red, kiwi kiss (SU), white cardstock, Bitty Dot Basics (PTI)
Ink: (all SU) teddy bear - creamy caramel, close to cocoa, chocolate chip, flower & stem - pink pirouette, riding hood red, kiwi kiss, old olive, sentiment - chocolate chip, others - riding hood red
Accessories: button (SU) ribbon, vintage twine (PTI), dew drops (The Robin's Nest - available KSS)

Tools: corner punch (Murvy Uchida)

Emilia's KS Crew challenge (KSCC#16) will be end on Friday, Aug 21st. You have a chance to win Kitchen Sink stamps or a wonderful stamp item! Leave your dishes in a sink! Ink your KS stamps and enter your challenge project HERE!!

Don't forget what other KS Crews are cookin' today! Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful day!

IC193 -- Cricut Letters

Hello everyone~
I tried a little different thing from my ordinary stamping. I used Cricut Expression!! I've had my Cricut machine since Christmas but I never used until now...Even my dear mother-in-law asked me about that I ever had tried yet, LOL. It was my first try with Cricut Design Studio, it took me 2 hours to finish this card, yike! I just cut the 5 letters :P It was so fun to play though. I hope it will get easier next time ;)

This card is my entry for SCS Inspiration challenge 193 (IC193) - Curiosity Shoppe. I browsed the site and decided to take 2 inspirations for my card.
I used Flowers of Happiness from There She Goes and colored the images with Copics.

CC231, SC241 and FTTC28

Hello everyone~
School is starting less than 2 weeks and we are trying to finish school shopping done.
My stamping time is very limited right now so I combined 3 challenges in one card :)

Here are the challenges I did:

-SCS Color Combination challenge 231 (CC231) - any color cardstock of your choice and the bleached color of the cardstock for the second color
-SCS Sketch Challenge 241 (SC241)
-Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge 28 (FTTC28) - Scoring

I picked ruby red cardstock and stamped the flourish image with bleach. The bleached color turned out a very pale yellow so I used barely banana for the another color.
For FTTC28, I scored the grid pattern on the main mat and the photo corners. I also sponged the colors on them to empasize the lines.

Stamps: Summer Botanicals, Waterlilies (Flourishes), Baroque Motif(SU)
Paper: ruby red (SU), dark chocolate, vintage cream (PTI)
Ink: chocolate chip, ruby red, barely banana (SU)
Accessories: dew drops (The Robin's Nest)

Tools: photo corner punch, word window punch (SU), Scor-Pal, bleach

KS Monday -- Aug 10, 2009

Hello everyone~ It's already Monday!? That means it's another Kitchen Sink Monday, too!!

I decided to stay away from Multi steps or 3 steps and made this card with the fun embossing resist technique.
First, I stamped old letter image from 3 Step Letters from the Past with moss green ink on the vanilla cardstock.
Next, I stamped the flourish images from Big & Bold Swashes set with VersaMark randomly and heat embossed with clear EP. And I sponged the moss green ink over the embossed image and the edges and used the paper towel to buff off the ink on the embossed images.
After that, I stamped the same flourish images with dark purple ink randomly and buff off the ink on the embossed images again. I also edged again with the same puple ink .
The sentiment was made with using Words of Comfort & Joy and Big & Bold Swashes.
