KS Monday– Celebrate In Style

SONY DSC

Hello and happy Monday everyone~

I have two projects to show you today for Kitchen Sink Monday!! Both of them are based on my favorite season, Spring :)

The first card was made for some of the KS Crew Challenges over KS Forum: Tuesday Kitchen Pantry Challenge 7 (KPC07) – Piercing and Friday Sketch Carte Challenge 8 (FSCC08).

I also (again) combined with CR84FN Color Challenge 17 (CR84FN17).

KSS FSCC08

I used Multi Step Champagne Celebration to create the image and sentiment. The roses on the corner were made from Prima Got Flowers (that I bought a quite while ago because those milk jars and flowers were so cute on the shelf! lol). It’s one way to use up those flowers since I used 6 flowers to make one rose ;)

These are the steps I did for each image:
(Champagne Glasses) 4th – SU basic gray, 3rd – Memento london fog,  2nd – SU pretty in pink, 1st – Memento angel pink

The next cards were the same ones Lynn showed us HERE for Monday 10 Minutes Card 8 (10MC8). I’m not sure mine was made in 10 minutes but even it wasn’t, it was close!

I used 3 Step Tulips Garden, Multi Step Ducks & Pigs and 3 Step Baseball. The word for the tulip card is from Simple Sentiments set.

They were also submitted to Wednesday Stock Up on Occasions Challenge (KSOCSpring)

These are the steps I did for each image:

(Tulip) 4th – SU cherry cobbler, 3rd – SU rose red,  2nd – SU regal rose, 1st – SU pink pirouette

(Leaves) 2nd – SU wild wasabi, 1st – SU pear pizzazz

SONY DSC

(Duck) 4th – SU chocolate chip, 3rd – SU cajun craze,  2nd – SU more mustard, 1st – SU so saffron

I decided to use one of Flourishes newest sets, Hello Hyacinth. The image was colored with Copic markers and Distress Ink walnut stain to add more shadow. Then I sponged the mat with ink and daubers. The sentiment was stamped with Tag Lines set on the the circle mat and sponged the mat with dauber. The paper doily on the back was also sponged and I sprayed some glimmer mist (of course it is hard to see for my photograph tech :P) To finish off, I embellished with the lace trim, ribbon with decorative brad and pearls.

The color combo was inspired by SCS Color Combination challenge 311 (CC311) and the sketch was actually stared from Card Positioning Systems 206 (CPS206) but I think it ended up the total different layout …:P

CTD130 & SSS96–Enjoy Spring Flowers

SONY DSC

Hello eveyrone~

I have one card to show you today :) I used Patty’s Pretty Posies set from InStyle Stamps. I’ve enjoyed using this set throughout this month. I’m so glad Virginia, the owner of ISS asked me to be a guest DT for the month of February!! It was such a fun one month! Thank you Virginia for giving this wonderful opportunity. You can check my other cards using the set HERE, HERE and HERE.

I’m submitting the card to a couple challenges…The sketch is coming from Sweet Stop Sketch 97 (SSS97) . The color combo was inspired by Color Throwdown 130 (CTD130)I had to use green a little bit for the leaves :P I hope it’s still OK to enter…

SSS96

SONY DSC

The image was used my favorite coloring medium, Copic markers. I masked the mat and sponged light brown color with dauber. The sentiment was used PTI Tag For Spring set.

I made the paper flower with paper punches (see the photo below). I punched 3 big flower, 3 small flowers and 2 leaves. Before assembling each piece, I used stylus (mine is the end of Sharpie marker, lol) and pressed each flower with circular motion until the flower is shaped like a cup. Then I inched and bended each petal using the straight tweezers. (I use the ones for eyebrows) I love using hot glue to assemble the flower but I think you can use any liquid glue for paper crafting. The closed bud on the center was just pinched tight after I put glue on the center of the flower. (Be careful not to burn your finger if you use hot glue!) The each flower was overlapped and I attached leaves on the back of flower :) I think it was turned out pretty cute!

Happy Sunday everyone~

I hope your weekend has been wonderful so far. I know exactly what we are doing today…watching Daytona 500 on TV!! (it would be absolutely thrilling if we are in Daytona though)

Although it’s nothing related with NASCAR, I have one card for Curtain Call Color Challenge {ACT70} It is such a fun color combo to play! I hope you will have a time to join us :)

Here is my card with the color combo.

SONY DSC

I used stamps from Just For Fun Stamps. Their faux postage stamps & templates are so fun and easy to make a scene like this. After I stamped the frame, I used the matching template and just inked each color inside the frame with blending tools. Then I stamped the silhouette palm trees image. The saying was trimmed closely with scissors and attached on the ric rac tape ribbon. To finish off, I embellished with rhinestones.

ISSIC02 & SSSC104 with InStyle Stamps

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

It’s finally weekend!! My husband is home safely and hopefully his Achilles will heal quickly. -For those of you who don’t know what happened to him, he raptured his Achilles last Sunday while he was working at the job site in Wyoming. He won’t be working for the next 4 weeks at least … I’m 100% sure he will be so bored by next week, lol. Hopefully he can find something to do so that I don’t have to cut back my stamping time as much…;)

Anyway, I have one card to show you. I made the card above with Patty’s Pretty Posies set from InStyle Stamps. They are absolutely cute and makes me so happy to stamp :) I took my inspiration from InStyle Inspiration Challenge (ISSIC02 ). I also used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 104 (SSSC104) I flipped the sketch to suit my image.

FTTC105–Fun with Designer Papers

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

I hope you had a wonderful Valentine’s Day!! Sadly my Valentine raptured his Achilles tendon on Sunday during the job in Wyoming (he’s been there since January). He is heading home today and will be here some time on Friday…A good thing is that he gets to stay at home for a while. A bad thing is that it will take a long time to heal….approximately 6 months for the fast recovery!! I’d appreciate greatly if you can pray for him. He is really in pain and I just hate I cannot be with him right now :( He sent me a wonderful wine & food gift package for a Valentine’s day gift because his job was not supposed to be done another 3 months…  Looks like we get to share the package together :)

OK, enough about my family matter…it’s time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC105).  Betty Wright is our challenge host and she is challenging us to *mix & match 3 or more designer papers* for you card/project!! Please visit at Flourishes Blog to find more detail about how to play the FTTC challenge.

SONY DSC

There are so many beautiful designer papers out there and of course I love using them for my project. I’ve seen Cindy sometimes stamps images on the designer papers and I decided to take her idea for my inspiration :) I used Spring Ephemerals set for the stamped image and Tag Lines for the sayings. I added the punched butterflies with rhinestones on the stamped mat and embellished the ribbon and Prima roses to finish off the card.

I used the sketch from Card Positioning Systems 205 (CPS205) and my color inspiration was come from CR84FN Color Challenge 15 (CR84FN15).
