FTTC35 & MOJO105

Hello everyone~
It's such a beautiful day here in Texas!! I'm loving the cool weather!! (I don't know 82F is cool for some of you ... but it's pleasant for me! I don't have to sweat being outside, lol)
I made this card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday 35 (FTTC35). It was hosted by the Guest hostess, Francie Gumprecht (Francie G on SCS) and she challenges us to extend our creations outside the frame.

I used the cherry image from Cherries & Peaches set and colored with Copics. I found the perfect sketch (MOJO105) to work with from Mojo Monday sketches and adhered the cherry on the square mat. The designer papers were from Basic Gray. I picked the red wood grain patterns because it was reminded of cherry wood :)

Stamps: Cherries & Peaches (Flourishes)
Paper: cool caribbean, rose red, basic black (SU), classic white (Flourishes), designer papers (Basic Gray)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko), Fresh Snow (PTI), Copic markers - Evergreen Collection, Poppy Collection, YG97, Y02, E33, E55
Accessories: ribbon (PTI), red pearls
Tools: Nestabilities (Spellbinders), circle punch, photo corner punch, piercing tool

OK, I have to run my errands now. Thank you for stopping by today!

TSG22 -- Cracked Glass

Hello everyone~
Jessica has posted another There She Goes challenge 22 (TSG22) for you to play! It is a technique challenge, called Cracked Glass. I used the great tutorial from Split Coasts Stampers to create my cracked glass mat.
When you finish your card/project, please enter your name and the link of your project to Mr. Linky on the challenge post over TSG blog. You have a chance to win $5 gift certificate to use at TSG Store. The challenge is open until the winner is announced on Monday, Oct 5th.

For my card, I used the brand new set, HSH Halloween Additions. I used the sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C4). I stamped the sentiment & the crow on the mat and sponged really rusty & basic gray (SU!) over the entire surface. After heat embossing the mat for 3 times with Ultra Thick clear EP, I put the mat in the freezer about 10 min - the coating has to be hard to make cracks. Then I cracked the mat and sponged the cracks with rich cocoa (Memento). I think the cracks gave the extra punch to the card :) What do you think??

Stamps: HSH Halloween Additions (TSG)
Paper: basic gray, pumpkin pie, (SU), white cardstock (Flourishes)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, rich cocoa, VersaMark (Tsukineko), basic gray, really rust (SU)
Accessories: brads, epoxy ribbon (Karen Foster), Ultra Thick clear EP
Tools: Nestabilities (Spellbinders),
CB embossing folder

Thank you for stopping by.

KS Monday -- Sep 28th, 2009

Happy Monday everyone~

Then I heat embossed with the clear EP. I then stamped the moon image and the leaves. The background were sponged with not quite navy (SU) & dandelion (Memento). To create the ground, I masked the piece of torn paper and sponged with tuxedo black (Memento).

These are the steps I did for each image: (All inks are Memento ink except the ones are mentioned.)
(tree) 2nd - tuxedo black, 1st - rich cocoa, 1st - VersaMark (for embossing)
(moon) 1st - dandelion, 2nd - dandelion, 3rd - cantaloupe

FTTC34 -- Misting

Hello everyone~
Today is going to be a full of plans... Fundraiser for Cheer team with my daughter, Watch a football game my son's playing and a family's visit!! I have to move like a busy bee, lol. Before I'm leaving the house, I uploaded one card to show you :)
I made this card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday 34 (FTTC34). The challenge was to use Stamp mist technique into a card/project.

I decided to use the technique to make a background with Falling Leaves set. I inked those images with using rock'n roll technique, misted, and stamped. After the mat was dried, I sponged the orange ink on the entire surface. Then I misted again and let it dry.
The main leaves were stamped on the watercolor paper and colored with reinkers & Twinkling H2Os.

Falling Leaves

Stamps: Falling Leaves (Flourishes)
Paper: perfect plum, barely banana (SU), classic ivory (Flourishes), watercolor papers (Strathmore)
Ink: India Black (Superior), Memento bamboo leaves, sweet plum, cantaloupe, tangelo (Tsukineko), pumpkin pie, riding hood red, summer sun, old olive (SU), Twinkling H2Os - chestnut brown, cinnamon brown
Accessories: ribbon, brads
Tools: Nestabilities (Spellbinders), border punch (EK Success), CB embossing folder (Provo Crafts), piercing tool

TSG Sneak Peek -- HSH Halloween Additions

Hello everyone~
It's a final day of TSG Sneak Peek & Blog Hop Challenge!! If you came from Julie's blog, you're on the right place. To get more information about this & previous Sneak Peeks, please visit to TSG blog. You can also check the blog hop list there.

I'm so excited to show you today's Sneak Peek set, Home Sweet Home Halloween Addtions (available on Sunday, Sep 27th)!! Halloween is my favorite holiday of all, and this new set makes me giggle & exciting, lol.! You can mix & match all the images with another newest release Home Sweet Home, too!! Is it awesome or what?! I can't wait to make scrapbook pages & Halloween treat boxes for kids!!

My cards are both used eyeballs images :) Somehow I thought these eyeballs were so cute, lol.
For my first card, I colored the images with Copics. The part of the oval mat were masked and sponged with Memento grape jelly ink to create the table. Then I placed those colored images on the table and added the glossy accent. I wish you could see the results of the glossy accents ... they really POP in a real life! Each spider were cut (yes, they were too tiny to cut but this card couldn't be finished w/o them!) and adhered on the mat. The strings were my own hand draw with the multi liner. The lavender ric rac ribbons & the gingham bow were added for the fun & girly look!

For the next card, I wanted to show you how this set is well coordinated with Home Sweet Home set (that I think it's the best part of the set!!). Again, I colored the all images with Copics, then I added the glossy accents on the eyeball glass jars, the bottle, the glass and the soup in the pot. I also added Stickles on the fire and simply added the rhinestones for the finish.

Do you wanna win your very own HSH Halloween Additions set? -- Leave your comment to each of Trendsetter's HSH Halloween Addtions posts. Then go back to TSG blog and leave your name to Mr. Linky of the HSH Halloween Additions Sneak Peek post. Jessica will announce the winner on Saturday during the Release Party Chat.

TSG Sneak Peek -- Spooktacular Shilouettes

Happy Fall and welcome to There She Goes Sneak Peek & Blog Hop Challenge!! TSG Trendsetters are going to show you the project with using Octorber release sets (available on Sunday, September 27th) for the next 3 days! If you hopped over from Jodi's blog, you're on a right track. If not, you may want to start from TSG blog for the fun event.

Today's Sneak Peek set is called Spooktacular Shilouettes. it's baaaack by popular demands after completely sold out last year!! You will have so much fun with making all Halloween projects with these fun & whimsical images for sure!

The first card is easy and quick. I cut out the all circles with punches (I used the Nesties for the black circles because I don't have 1 1/2" circle punch) and simply stamped the each image. The moon on behind the tree was stenciled and the circles mats were edged with coordinated colors. After the sentiment mat was sponged & stamped, it was embellished with the rhinestones to finish.

For the second card, I created the spooky scene with sponging, stenciling & masking. First, I stamped the tree and the moon. Then I sponged the ground and stamped the tombstones. Next, I masked the tombstones and stenciled the clouds. After the scene mat were placed on the card, I attached the fence, the flying witch & the black cat to complete the scene. Again, the rhinestones were embellished for the finish.

How to play the challenge? -- Leave your comment to each of Trendsetter's Spooktacular Shilouettes posts. Then go back to TSG blog and leave your name to Mr. Linky of the Sneak Peek & Blog Hop Challenge post. The winner of this challenge will win their very own set of Spooktacular Silhouettes! Jessica will announce the winner on Saturday during the Release Party Chat.

The next hop is an awesomely talented stamper, Sandra (Yep, she is Baaaaaack, too! Woohoo!)!!

KS Monday -- Aug 21, 2009

Hello everyone~
Monday is here and that means it's another Kitchen Sink Monday!! I hope you had a great weekend. Mine was a very good one...went to watch the football game my son played and Troy came home from NC with .....a bag full of laundry ;) I was not excited with the laundry part but he works so hard so that we can live comfortably, plus he is a wonderful cook, too! Can't complain anymore, lol.

I made this Sympathy card with 3 Step Hearts & Roses. The background was not only stamped but I also did Mod Podge the sheet of mulberry paper.
First, I stamped the rose images on the cardstock randomly. Some of the roses were skipped the last step to give the different depth.
Next, I spread Mod Podge with foam brush to entire stamped background and layered the mulberry paper. Then I spread Mod Podge over the mulberry paper and let it dry.
I trimmed the finished mat and punched the corners to finish. I love the way the roses show through with the texture of the mulberry paper.

The image was stamped with these step:
(rose) 1st - lulu lavender, 2nd - sweet plum, 3rd - sweet plum, 4th - grape jelly
(leaves) 1st - kiwi kiss, 2nd - kiwi kiss, 3rd - old olive

Remember, your purchase will be discounted 10% from the total price (before tax & shipping) when you use a promotion code "MAKIKO10KSS" at KSS store anytime!

SC246 & LSC238

Hello everyone~
It's another combined challenge card!! I get behind with challenges all the time so I had to combine some challenges sometimes, :P

This card was combined SCS Sketch challenge 246 (SC246) and Limited Supplies challenge 236 (LSC238). The LSC challenge was to use Halloween colors (don't have to be Halloween theme).

The colors are definitely Halloween colors...since I used SU's retired Halloween dp, lol. The stamps are used Tastes Like Chicken from There She Goes. I paper pieced the sofa with the same dp I used for the card. The mat for the sentiment was mimicked the rug...can you tell? I also stamped the card inside. I hope it will make you smile :)

There She GoesTastes Like Chickenを使いました。

Stamps: Tastes Like Chicken (TSG)
Paper: pumpkin pie, retired dp (SU), white cardstock
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, tangelo, grape jelly (Tsukineko), pumpkin pie (SU)
Accessories: ribbon (SU), rhinestones
Tools: Nestabilities (Spellbinders)

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend!

This is Awesome!!

C4C2 & CC236

Hello everyone~
I thought the rain was stopped yesterday...Guess what? It was raining today again and we are expecting more rain tomorrow :(

Anyway, today's card was used the sketch from Crazy 4 Challenges (C4C2) and the colors are from SCS Color Combination challenge 236 (CC236). I don't have any new colors from SU! so I used close to cocoa instead.
All stamps are from Papertrey Ink. The quilt patchwork images were colored with Copics. The main mat & all of four background mats were edged with the chalk ink. To make the stitches image inside the square mats, I masked all four sides and just stamped the stitches slightly inside of the masking.

Stamps: Quilter's Sampler, Quilter's Sampler Additions, Faux Ribbon (PTI)

Hello & happy Kitchen Sink Monday, everyone!
First of all, I'd like to send my big birthday wishes to my fellow KS Crew & blogger friend, Lynn !! Happy Birthday, Lynn!!

Some of the KS Crew are heading to Warner Robins, GA this Saturday for "KSS Chef in Training" event!! Anybody who will be there, have a lot of fun!! I know you will ;)

I used a few set for the card --3 Step Letters from the Past, 3 Step Butterflies, and Vintage Words to make the collage look. The pen and words are heat embossed with clear EP after stamping with dye inks and VersaMark. For the butterflies and stamp images, the only last step was used.

The image was stamped with these step:
(pen) 1st - bravo burgundy (stamping off), 2nd - bravo burgundy, 3rd - night of navy
(butterflies) 3rd - night of navy (stamping off)
(stamp) 2nd - always artichoke (stamping off)

IC197 & FS136

Hello everyone~
I'm trying to upload another card I made this weekend :)
This card was combined 2 challenges from SCS.

- Inspiration Challenge 197 (IC197): CWDKids -- My inspiration is from the girl dress.

- Featured Stamper 136 (FS136): Shannan (aka Steubner) was the featured stamper!! I LOVE her style (who doesn't anyway?) I wish I have a half of as much talent as she has ;) I cased this card from her gallery.
I used the different colors & stamps but I kept the same design and techniques she used.

I used Nature of Friendship from There She Goes.
Oh yes, I stamped the image one by one on the background!! It's a little bit work but it's so much fun to create my own background!

スタンプは全て、There She GoesからのNature of Friendshipを使いました。

Stamps: Nature of Friendship (TSG)
Paper: tempting turquoise (SU), dark chocolate (PTI), classic white (Flourishes)
Ink: chocolate chip, tempting turquoise (SU), Memento pear tart (Tsukineko)
Accessories: rhinestones
Tools: border punch
(SU), distress tool

Thank you for stopping by.
