The color combo is a little hard for some of you…but trust me, it is a pretty combination :)

I used 6 Petal Flowers digi for the flower images. I colored them with Copic markers and adhered each of them around the sentiment mat. The sentiment was from Feminine Birthday Greetings digi. The card was designed with the cardstocks and Basic Gray designer paper. The baker’s twines were added to the yellow border piece and the rhinestones were embellished on the card. To finish off, I added Stickles on the center of each flower.

RI Designer’s Choice Challenge #S2811–Robin

SONY DSC

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone~

I have one card to show you today for Designer’s Choice Challenge from Repeat Impressions. It’s Robin’s turn and she is challenging us to use *animals* for your creation. You will have two weeks (by Oct 4th) to enter your project. When you finish your project, make sure you link it to the DCC post at RI blog where the inlinkz are located so that you will have a chance to win the RI gift certificate! For more information about the DCC, please visit The House That Stamps Built (RI blog). Can’t wait to see your creation!

Sadly, it is Harriet’s last day as a RI Rock Star…:( So, I decided to make a CAS card. I used Cat Sil small (5135-C) for the image and stamped it 3 times on three different circle panel. Other circles were simply embellished with buttons. The greeting, Halloween (1139-F) was stamped on the yellow strip and the rhinestones were adhered next to the greeting.

I used the sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping (FTL159). Harriet is also one of the contributors for the challenge blog ;)

FTTC137–Set the Table

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

Hope your place is cooler than my place…I don’t know where the cool fall days went but I’d love to see them come back!! At least I can feel the fall season with my creation ;)

It’s time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC137)! Tammy is challenging us to make something for *a holiday table setting*. Please visit Flourishes Blog for more information about the challenge. Looking forward to seeing your creation!!

To be honest, I had never made anything for a table setting before…not even a place card! I had some ideas and things I wanted to do for the challenge but those ideas are getting bigger in my head and they were getting overwhelming…So, I decided to get some inspirations from SCS Resources and I found a tutorial of triangle box. I thought it would be a cute box to put mints or chocolates in for each guest. Then I decided to make a matching place card and napkin ring.

SONY DSC

SONY DSC

I used a new stamp set, A Season of Thanks set for the place/tent card. The image was colored with Copic markers. The stamp from Country Charm Labels was used for the name plate (Kim is my daughter’s name). The inside of the card, I stamped the sentiment, “a note of Thanksgiving” so that I can leave *thank you* message for my guests :) I also used the retired stamp, Autumn Flourishes for the all projects.

This has been submitted to CR84FN Color Challenge 39 (CR84FN39).

RI SOTW–Week of Sep 19th, 2011

SONY DSC

Hello again,

I have one more card to share with you today. It’s another week for Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week! This week’s SOTW is a beautiful stamp, Swan (4319-H). The SOTW is available exclusively to our RI blog readers at 50% OFF with the special discount code from Mon, Sep 19th to Sun, Sep 25th. To get the discount code and more information about the SOTW, please go to the RI blog, The House That Stamps Built.

It was simple steps to create but I really love how it was turned out! (Of course, I’m not thrilled about the theme of the card….I hope I don’t have to send anyone for a while)

I stamped the swan on the oval panel (glossy cardstock) with Memento black. To color the background, I masked the swan image and sponged the mat with several Memento inks (light blue- blue – dark blue). I also draw the water rings lightly with Copic markers and a white gel pen.  After I satisfied with the shading, I stamped Bamboo (5704-L) on the bottom half of the oval. The card was embellished with the cardstock and designer paper. The saying, Deepest Sympathy (4025-F) was stamped on the grommet tag panel. To finish off, I embellished with the satin ribbon, pearl brads and pearls.

KS Monday–Happy Halloween

SONY DSC

Hello and happy Kitchen Sink Monday everyone~

I wish the weekend lasted longer….I am not ready to start this week :( …maybe because we finally had rain that we needed so desperately and didn’t want to finish the relaxed weekend ;)

Since the weather is cooler slowly but gradually, I wanted to start making Halloween cards early so that I can start my Christmas cards earlier…that’s not guarantee but let’s keep fingers cross if it will happen!

SONY DSC

I used Multi Step Owl & Autumn Moon for the tree, moon and bats. The witch is from Friends of the Moon and the greeting is from Ready 4 Any Holiday.

I stamped the moon on the glossy cardstock and simply stamped the tree. Then, I stamped the witch, bats and the greeting. The background was sponged with inks. The card was designed with the cardstock and the star patterned paper. To finish off, I embellished with the ribbon, button with black twine and rhinestones.

The moon was stamped as following these steps: 1st – SU so saffron (1 x stamp off), 2nd – so saffron,3rd – SU more mustard. The tree was: 2nd – SU early espresso, 1st – SU soft suede. The background was used SU not quite navy, SU early espresso, SU basic black, SU so saffron.

RI Designer’s Choice Challenge - Harriet

SONY DSC

Hello and happy Wednesday!!
I made a card for Designer’s Choice Challenge from Repeat Impressions! It’s Harriet’s turn to host and she is challenging us to make ONE LAYER card! Since her style is known as Clean and Simple, it’s natural that she chose it as her challenge. Let see if we can bring it on too!

For my card, I decided a little faux layer – sponging a shape ;) I simply embossed the oval shape with Nestabilities and sponged the ink inside of the oval die – I masked around the shape not ink the outside the die. Then, I stamped Bamboo (5704-L) and the sentiment, Today and Always…(4026-F). To finish off, I dressed the card with the lace trim and purple baker’s twine.

KS Monday–Yee Haw!

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

It’s time for Kitchen Sink Monday!! First of all, my thoughts and prayers are people in TX, who has been fighting for the large wild fire since Sunday…mostly the fires are in the central TX but fires popped from here and there in northeast Texas where I live too. The winds from the hurricane are not helping at all :( God, please bring a lot of rain, not just winds!!

I made this cowboy boots card, using Friday Sketch Carte Challenge (FSCC35). I used the inspiration of the boots from My daughter’s new boots. The boots are from Multi Cowboy Boots and the words are from Multi Step Cowboy Hat.

The boots were stamped as following these steps: 3rd – SU pool party, 2nd – SU soft suede (1 x stamp off), 1st – SU crumb cake, 4th – SU turquoise blue, 5th – SU not quite navy.

The hemp twine was looped around the lacey circle mat and also used for the border accent. To finish off, the vintage rhinestone brads were attached on the card.

This card has been submitted to the CR84FN Color Challenge 37 (CR84FN37).

Guest Designer Badge

Hello everyone~

I have a special post today. Our Creative Corner challenge blog has invited me to be a guest designer for today’s challenge!! I am so thrilled and excited to play along with those talented OCC designers!! Hope you will play along too!

It’s Holly’s turn to host and here is what she said…

“As my first challenge, I'm inviting you to dig up your patterned papers and get inky by stamping right on them to create something totally new and different. Imagine the dramatic background a simple damask stamp on a stripped designer paper could create! Or grab a cute image stamp and your favorite patterned paper to make a never-been-seen-before focal point for your card!” – It is such a wonderful challenge, Holly!!

I used the gorgeous stamp set, Dream Big from Verve Stamps. The flower and leaves were stamped on the KaiserCraft designer paper (Lilian - English Rose Collection), that was cut out with SB big scallop oval Nestabilities. The one flower and two leaves were stamped, trimmed and adhered on the scallop oval mat. The brown layer and the sentiment panel were cut with SB label 14. The card was designed with the cardstock and the same designer paper. To finish off, I embellished with the satin ribbon with pearl brad and the pearls.

SNSDC18–White on White

SONY DSC

Hello and happy Friday everyone~

It’s Labor’s Day weekend and people usually say, “Don’t wear white after Labor’s Day!”… Well, in the card making world, I guess we have to break the tradition for this week’s Sweet ‘N Sassy Digi Challenge, don’t I? ;) The challenge (SNSDC18) is *White on White* - Use only white/ivory for layers and papers!

You can use any digital stamps. Only requirement is the image has to be digital – but if you have any digital stamps from Sweet ‘N Sassy Stamps, we’d love you to use them! You can visit SNS Digi Challenge Blog for more information about the challenge and find out how to win free digital stamps from SNS. Can’t wait to see your creation!

For my card, I used this beautiful digital stamp, Birds and Roses. I colored it with Copic markers and layered on white lattice pendant mat. I dry-embossed the layer  and punched the corner for the other layer.  To finish off, I dressed the card with the pale blue satin ribbon and pink & blue pearls. The white layers and papers definitely make the image stand out more, don’t you think?
