FTTC142–Out of the Box!

SONY DSC

Hello and happy Tuesday everyone~

I hope you had a great Halloween! I am sorry for hearing some of you could not do trick-or-treating last night due to the bad weather…I hope the weather will get better and back to normal … it is just too early to be winter!

I made this card for today’s Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC142). Beate is challenging us a *Out of the Box* challenge – Stamp your image and let it partially hang out its frame/shape. She has a great tutorial HERE over Splitcoaststampers if you need to know how. Please visit Flourishes Blog for more information about the challenge. Looking forward to seeing your creation!!

SONY DSC

For my card, I used Zinnias. I followed the tutorial to create my out-of-the-box design. The image was colored with Copic markers. The card was designed with the cardstocks and the designer papers. To finish off, I added the lace trim and swirl rhinestones.

Here is the Copic Collections I used.

This card has also been submitted to CR84FN Color Challenge (CR84FN41) and Sweet Stop Sketch (SSS132)revisited SSS77.

  • RI SOTW–Week of Oct 31st, 2011

    SONY DSC

    Hello and Happy Halloween again!

This is my second post for today. I made this card for Repeat Impressions Stamp of the Week! This week’s SOTW is Tombstone (2317-D).  Another great addition for Halloween project! I know you won’t get to use it for this year but we always have it for next year ;) The SOTW is available exclusively to our RI blog readers at 50% OFF with the special discount code from Mon, Oct 31th to Sun, Nov 6th. To get the discount code and more information about the SOTW, please go to the RI blog, The House That Stamps Built.

I used a few more Halloween stamps, Bats (2308-E), Boo! (2316-G), and Halloween (1119-F) to create this card. The moon was used a stencil technique using the circle template. Then I masked the moon to create the background with inks and a sponge. After that, I stamped the bats (inked just small ones) and the greeting, then adhered the tombstone, that was colored with Copic markers. The card was designed with the cardstocks and designer papers. The bottom paper was stamped with the word “Boo!” randomly. To finish off, the ribbon was tied on the green border.

  • KS Monday–Baseball Happy Birthday!

    SONY DSC

    Happy Halloween!!

My favorite holiday is here! I hope your Halloween is as fun as mine :)

It is also a time for Kitchen Sink Monday! I want to share this card above (although nothing related with Halloween, lol)! I made it for my son’s friend, who is a big fan of Texas Rangers. I originally planned to give something I already made … Well, all cards I’ve made for the last 6 years, do you think I could find one birthday card for a tween boy?! The answer is “No!”, lol! A good thing is I could customize for him what he loved!

I used 3 Step Base Ball for the image and words. The glove were stamped as following these steps: 3rd – SU chocolate chip, 4th – SU early espresso, 2nd – SU close to cocoa, 1st – SU crumb cake (Mmm…these inks make me hungry now, lol!).

The words were stamped with shaping as the edge of the circle mat instead of stamping straight. The white border behind the red patterned paper was dry embossed with the embossing folder. I also added the faux zig zag stitches and added the stars, created with the star die. To finish off, the ribbon was embellished on the card.

    FLLCORW1–the Name Game Challenge

    The Name Game Challenge Graphic

As Flourishes October Release week is continued, we have Noon Time Challenge (FLLCORW1) for you to play!

Last release, we challenged players to come up with a fun and unique twist on a challenge, suggest it and they could win a chance to be in the Flourishes spotlight – not only would their challenge be picked, they would be the superstar of the day ushering the challenge as well! Our first challenge hostess this noon is the talented Suzanne Czosek! We loved her challenge to use your own name in a creative way!

How to Play: Simply use your monogram as the inspiration for your creation! So, if your name starts with an “J” – add jewels! What about “B” –add a bow! How about a “P” – use a punch! Just that simple! Just make sure you share your initials and the things you used on your creation that were name inspired! When you are done, link your creation back up here using our inlinkz widget. You need to do that in order to be in the running. If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword FLLCORW1. You have until Friday, October 14th at  5PM EST to enter! Let’s get that name game started and get creative!

    Here is my take.

    SONY DSC

This beautiful image and greeting were from October release set, Meet Me Under the Mistletoe. It’s no doubt that the images are beautiful, but what I love most is the different sentiments in the set! Another wonderful holiday stamps from Flourishes!

My monogram is M, I, J. Here is what I did to use my monogram…”M” – Masking, “I” – Inch panels and “J” – Jewel.

The image was colored with Copic markers. Then I masked it and added the colors on the background with distress inks and a sponge. The greeting piece was also sponged with the ink. The inch panels were embossed with an embossing folder. To finish off, I simply embellished with rhinestones and pearls.

I enjoyed making this card so much…I am so ready for working holiday cards now…hope it will last until I make plenty enough for sending out!

    SONY DSC

I colored the image with Copic markers and added sparkles with glitter pens – It is hard to see the sparkles from the photo though :( The image mat was cut with Nestabilities  and the pines were stamped around the edge.  The card was designed with the cardstocks and designer papers. The red background was dry embossed and the designer paper were punched with border punch. The kraft circle mat was cut with Nestabilities. For the sentiment, the word “sparkle” was drawn with the red glitter pen and attached above the bow. To finish off, the ribbon, poinsettias and rhinestones were embellished.

This card has been submitted to CR84FN Color Challenge 40 (CR84FN40) and Sweet Stop Sketch 129 – revisiting SSS37 (SSS129).

    Hello everyone~

I am back to KS Monday!! Hope you missed me…? :)

I decided to create a CAS style card today using Multi Step Big Leaves. The leaves were stamped as following these steps: 1st – SU cajun craze (1 x stamp off), 3rd – cajun craze. (I didn’t use Step 2 to create the image.) The greeting was created with Multi Step Harvest and Mix It Up!

The sketch was from Clean and Simple Stamping blog (FTL160) and it has also been submitted to Crazy 4 Challenge 108 (C4C108).

    Hello and happy Monday everyone~

I am so happy to participate this special event,

*Swimming For Katie Renz Blog Hop & Fundraiser*!!

I hope you will join with us for the next three days!!

From October 10-12, some of the best stampers are joining together to support and encourage our friend and fellow stamper, Katie Renz, who is currently battling inoperable gastric cancer.  If you're not familiar with her, Katie’s cancer story started just before Christmas last year.  This young, beautiful, healthy, vibrant mother of 3 with her infectious smile was suddenly diagnosed with an inoperable cancer, virtually overnight.  A few tummy aches and then stage 4 gastric cancer.  Her first post about it is HERE.  The idea of “Swimming for Katie” came from her recent post HERE.

This exclusive stamp used in my sample, designed by Becky Oehlers is available as a clear stamp, as well as a digis or a digis and SVG cut file.  100% of the profits go to Katie's fund to help her and her young family.  Her husband Kevin and her three young children need our help and support.  In addition to the Keep Swimming Octopus, Marianne Walker and True =D Doodle Designs both also donated digis that are for sale.  Direct donations are also being accepted.  Information central is HERE.  This is a permanent page that will stay active at i {heart} papers with current information and the full 3 day blog hop listing, as well as the donation button.

Here are all the items available for sale.

I colored the image with Copic markers and cut the panel with Nestabilties label 3. Then I sponged the mat with ink. The flag piece was attached with extending from the mat. I designed the card with fun & colorful colors and papers…if this card makes you smile, that means I did a good job :)

    SNSDC23–Welcome Little One

    SONY DSC

    Hello everyone~

It is finally Friday!! I am a little under weather right now and hopefully I get to have a rest this weekend ;)

I made one card for Sweet ‘N Sassy Digi Challenge (SNSDC23). The challenge is *For A Baby*. I hope you will have a time to play along!

You can use any digital stamps. Only requirement is the image has to be digital – but if you have any digital stamps from Sweet ‘N Sassy Stamps, we’d love you to use them! You can visit SNS Digi Challenge Blog for more information about the challenge and find out how to win free digital stamps from SNS. Can’t wait to see your creation!

I used this cute image, You’re Giraffe-ic digi for the image. It was colored with Copic markers and trimmed to adhere on the center of the card. The sentiment is from Baby Blessings digi. The background was designed like quilt blocks with the designer papers and added the flower border. To finish off, I dressed with the buttons.

Be sure to check other SNS Digi Blog Design Team for more inspiration!

It is so wonderful to play with my favorite penguins :) I used Penguin Tree (8802-N) for the image and Christmas Wishes (8915-D) for the sentiment. The image was colored with Copic markers and the panel was sponged with ink. The circles were used designer papers and scalloped circle mats. I attached the snowflakes on the one circle and stamped the sentiment on the other one. The photo corners and scalloped circles were embellished with white pearls.
