FTTC60 -- Denise's Inspiration Challenge

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC60) ! It is the last Tuesday of the month so we have us a challenge host. This month's challenge host is Denise Marzec(Peanutbee) ! Denise is challenging us to an Inspiration Challenge! Denise has chosen three gorgeous pictures to get inspired by for our card making. Pick one or do all three during the week. We would love to see what you create!

I picked this photo below for my inspiration!

I used Strawberries set and colored with Copic markers. I also took the colors of red & blue, gingham patterns and the shape of the plate as the inspirations to create my card.
The background dp is from Basic Gray Nook & Pantry and I used the gingham ribbon and the rhinestone brads to embellish the card.

To honor Denise, I also decorated the inside of the card...you probably know that her cards are super pretty inside also :)

Now, check out what the rest of FOF have created for the challenge!!

Denise (Guest Hostess)

I want to show you my strawberries, just planted (by my hubby)! They are not quite ready like the ones on the card, lol.

KS Monday -- Mar 29th, 2010

Hello and happy Kitchen Sink Monday everyone~
Spring Break is over here and kids are going back to school! I enjoyed having kids at home and we also went to San Antonio TX for Kimberly's Cheer Competition at Six Flags last Saturday... the last competition for the season!! She and all kids in the team worked so hard and I'm so proud of them! Of course Six Flags are so much fun :):)

For today's card, I was thinking about the holiday...well, Easter is coming this weekend and I wanted to do something different with Nesting Dolls set. I first started to work on the background with heat embossing the egg image using VearsaMark and white EP. Next, I sponged the background with Memento tangelo, cantaloupe and new sprout. Then, I stamped the flower images with the same colors. I used the same color combo for each letter of the greeting, using 1/2 Pint Playful Alphabet Buddy set. To embellish the card, I attached the butterflies with rhinestones.
All papers are from St. Patty's KSS Green Paper Package by Paper Temptress and I used the sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping (FTL83).

TSG47 -- One Layer Card

Hello everyone~
It's going to be a quick post...this card was my take on There She Goes challenge 47 (TSG47), one layer card!! Yeah...easy to say but hard to make for me, lol.
I used my new favorite set, Dance. It's not too much to say about the technique but I draw the line around the quote instead of having the layer. The flowers on the background were stamped with 2 different shade of pink. The main flowers were colored with Copic marker.

There She Goes is doing the new release sneak peek this week! The Trendsetters are doing a super fabulous job for the Sneak Peeks as always. Can't wait to get those new sets :):)

Stamps: Dance (TSG)
Paper: ivory cardstock
Ink:
Memento rich cocoa, angel pink, rose bud, SU chocolate chip marker
Accessaries: pearls

Thank you for stopping by. I'm coming back for Kitchen Sink Monday! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend :)

FTTC59 -- Fake it!!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC59) ! This week Betty Wright is our host. Betty is challenging us to fake it! We are using faux techniques this week on our cards and projects. There are a list of many amazing faux ideas in the Tutorial section at SCS. Check them out here. So, create something faux fabulous with us this week. We would love to see what you create!

My card was used two faux techniques - Faux Tearing and Faux Wood Frame. You can find the tutorials to just click the name of the technique. For the faux tearing, I added the white line with the white pigment ink & blender pen on the edge of the tearing to give more detail. When I created the faux wood frame, I used the forest branch embossing folder to create the wood lines...simply because I don't own the distress stripe embossing folder :p

The tearing background was stamped with Basket Weave stamp. The Daffodil image from A Year in Flowers 1 set was stamped on the watercolor paper and water colored with reinker. I also did paper tole for the some of the flowers. The greeting was stamped with Tag Lines set (Happy) and Seasonal Wreaths set (spring).

The card is also enter Our Creative Corner - Spring/Easter themed card challenge (OCCC) and Crazy 4 Challenges - Spring card challenge (C4C29).

Now, check out what the rest of FOF have created for the challenge!!

KS Monday -- Mar 22nd, 2010

Hello and happy Kitchen Sink Monday everyone~
Right after the first day of spring, we had snow in TX, lol. It had been warm and pleasant for the last one week so that this cold weather was like eating sour grapes :( At least we can enjoy feeling spring in the card world, right?

To create the main panel, I used 3 Step Hey Chick! and stamped the chick images first. Then with Multi Step Clovers & Shamrocks, I stamped the clovers randomly from the chick's feet to below. The little flowers were also stamped from the Hey Chick! set. I sponged the sky with Memento summer sky.
The all papers except the designer paper and pink label mat are from PaperTemptress - St. Patty's KSS Green Package. I created the border on the bottom of the card with the Martha Stewart border punch. The ribbon & rhinestones were used for the embellishments.

These are the steps I did for each image (all inks are Memento unless mentioned):
(all clovers) 1st - pear tart, 2nd - bamboo leaves, 3rd - cottage ivy
(chicks) 4th - rich cocoa, 3rd - desert sand, 2nd - cantaloupe, 1st - dandelion
(flowers) rose bud

TSG46 & CTD84

Happy Spring everyone~
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. My kids are going to have Spring Break next week so I'm probably going to cut down my stamping time and enjoy spending a time with them.

Today's card is used the sketch from There She Goes challenge 46 (TSG46). I also combined the color combo from Color Throwdown (CTD84). I already wanted to use the set, Loads of Fun for the sketch and I thought the color combo would be great with the washer and dryer image :)
The image was colored with Copic markers. The sentiment says "Around here, 'Normal' is just a setting on the washing machine"... just like my house, lol.

Stamps: Loads of Fun (TSG)
Paper: tangeling tango, soft sky, white, black, SU retired dp
Ink:
Memento tuxedo black, soft sky, taken with teal, Copic markers, white gel pen

FTTC58 -- Sketch Challenge by Silke

Happy Tuesday everyone~
It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC58) ! This week Silke Ledlow is our challenge host! Silke has designed a sketch for us to try. Actually, Silke designed two sketches. Are you are feeling the round or the square? You could be feeling a bit of both and play twice! As far as sketches go, you can turn them increase or decrease the sizes a bit, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. We would love to see what you create with us this week!

My card was used Sketch 2 and I used the newest release set, Easter Baskets set. I love making Easter cards - they are usually used springy colors that make me happy & smile :) Speaking of the spring colors, I used the color combo from Our Creative Corner challenge ...hosted by Silke!
Each image was colored with Copic markers and adhered where the star was on the sketch. I used the flower Nestabilities for the one of the circle layers. The corners on the designer paper was punched with decorative corner punch and I adhered the matching punched border on the top of the card. The ribbon and pearls are attached to complete the card.

Now, check out what the rest of FOF have created for the challenge!!

So, as we wrap up our week of Grand Opening challenges, all you need to do is create a card using these two colors! Simply create and link up on the challenge post of Flourishes blog and you'll be in the running for a goody bag from Flourishes! If you upload to SCS, please use the keyword FLLCCEL5. This set is just overflowing with possibilities – and as you make the rounds, you'll see why! This set will be released right after our Power Hour Release Party TONIGHT. The party starts at 9 PM CST in our SCS Member Company Forum!

Here is my take on the green & pink challenge :):)
Easter Basket set is very pretty and the images definitely have Lauren Pope's vintage art style :):) -- reminds me those vintage children books, which I got inspired when I created this card.
I used the designer paper from Making Memories for the background and it was zig zag stitched. On the top note classic ivory mat, I stamped the eggs and glass images (some of the eggs were masked also) with Memento rich cocoa and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the bow image twice and colored with Copic markers as well. They were trimmed and adhered on the two corners of the top note mat.
The main mat was created with Nestabilities die and the greeting and rabbit image were stamped. For the finish touch, I attached the rhinestones. I think I used the same rhinestones a lot this week, didn't I? What can I say...I love bling, lol :):)

Now, check out what these Flourishes DT and FOF have created using Easter Basket!!

Stamps: Easter Basket (Flourishes)

Here is my take on the sparkle challenge :)

Don't you love the beautiful lily image? Marcella's drawing work is beyond amazing as always and all we need to do is just coloring (lucky us, hee hee).
I stamped the lily image on the classic white mat twice and colored with Copic markers. I also stamped it once again on the white scrap, cut it out and attached to the one of the lily images with dimensionals.
For the challenge, I put Stickles on the lilies' anthers. The designer papers also have some glitter and I attached the rhinestones on the decorative corners.
At last but not least, I completed the card with the gingham ribbon :):)

Now, check out what these Flourishes DT and FOF have created using Lily of Hope!!

Here is my cased card for the challenge. I cased this card that was created by Dawn.

Luckily, I got to know about Dawn when she and I were the same DT team of another stamp company 6 month ago. I'm so excited that she is now Flourishes DT!! She is ubber talented and I love everything she makes :):) I especially love she's added the detailed border on the top of some of her cards...of course I had to add mine, too ;) Instead of her brown card base, I used the red card base to match with the mailbox image. The image was colored with Copic markers. The classic ivory mat needed something more...so I attached the pearls.

Flourishes Web Celebration - Day 2 / FTTC57

Welcome back for the second day of Flourishes Web Celebration!! Since Tuesday is also time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday, we are combining the FTTC challenge into this week long celebration!!

Here is today's challenge detail.
Day 2: Welcome to day 2 of the Grand Opening Celebration for Flourishes! We're celebrating our new home on the web! Today, for the Timeless Tuesday challenge, it's my turn to host the challenge and I am challenging you all to get in the spirit and create a card full of celebration!!
Simply create and link up on the challenge post of Flourishes blog and you'll be in the running for a goody bag from Flourishes! If you upload to Splitcoast, please use the keyword FLLCCEL2 and since this is also a Timeless Tuesday challenge as well, be sure to also add on the keyword FTTC57 to be in the running for the weekly drawing for $10 off in the Flourishes store. That's right – one challenge with two chances to win! You have until Monday, March 15th at 6 PM EST to link up your cards.

Here is my take on the challenge.

Just before I started to make a card for this challenge, I got a tweet from a friend of mine in Japan that she was heading to hospital to deliver her first baby!! I thought what it would be wonderful to make a card for celebrating the beginning of life - BABY!! I don't know if she had a baby yet because she hasn't tweeted me yet after that...wishing she's having no complications and just enjoy being Mom.

I colored the image from Baby Love with Copic markers and paper pieced the parts of the image. The image was adhered on the classic white mat with dimensional adhesives. The decorative layer behind the main mat was cut with FLEUR DE LIS Pendant die. To complete the card, the ribbon and pearls were added. I stamped the sentiment inside.

Now, check out what these Flourishes DT and FOF have created for the challenge!!

Stamps:
Baby Love (Flourishes)

Paper: classic white (Flourishes), sweet blush (PTI), designer papers (DCVW, K & Co.)

Hello everyone~ The exciting week has begun at Flourishes!! Some of you have already known that Flourishes has just renewed their home page and Flourished DT and FOF are celebrating all week long with fun challenges and giveaways at Flourishes blog (it's also a new home)!! I hope you will play along one, two or all challenges with us.

Here is the detail about Day 1 challenge:

Day 1: Flourishes has been waiting to officially unveil its new home on the web for months and this week we're kicking off five days of fun and games to celebrate the big event! Today's challenge is a bit sketchy – literally. PageMaps.com hostess and Flourishes artist Becky Fleck whipped up a special sketch just for our celebration! Use it for your own creation, link up on the challenge post of Flourishes blog and you could walk away the winner of our day one drawing for a goody bag from Flourishes (it's a fun-filled surprise!). If you upload to Splitcoast, please use the keyword FLLCCEL1. You have until Monday, March 15th at 6 PM EST to link up your cards!

Isn't it a fantastic sketch? I'm so happy I finally inked the new set, From the Garden :):) The image was stamped on the watercolor paper and water-colored with reinker. Then the image was paper toiled on the classic ivory mat. I used the designer paper from Basic Gray Nook & Pantry (I know I've used them a lot, lol). The yellow mat was embossed with the embossing folder and the top & bottom part were zig-zag stitched. I embellished with the red plaid ribbon, S-swirl clips and rhinestones.

CC260 -- Growing in Unity

Hello everyone~
This card was used the color combo from SCS Color Combination 260 (CC260) - Basic Gray, Crushed Curry, Always Artichokes and any neutrals.
The dessert option is to create a border with nesties shapes!

I don't have any Crushed Curry so I used Summer Sun instead. I really love the colors together so I'm very curious how the card would be turned out with Crushed Curry ;)
As the dessert option, I used Label Eight die (largest one) and created the curvy borders. I did paper piercing the curvy edge.

The stamps are Growing in Unity from Unity Stamps. It is such a beautiful set to play!!

The swirly bird image was stamped with rock 'n roll technique and I layered the body part with dimensional adhesives. The pearls, ribbon and button were added to finish the card.

Here is another take on CC260. The sketch was based on FTL80 from Clean and Simple Stamping blog. The stamps are from January KOM set from Unity Stamps. The sentiment is from Simply Home by Ippity...thanks Heather:) Again, I used Nestabilities Label Eight to create the border.

FTTC56 -- Scallops

Hello everyone~
It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC56) ! This week Cindy Haffner is our host. Cindy is challenging us to use scallops. Whether you add scalloped shells, tiny scallop borders, or scalloped frames, we would love to see what you create using scallops on your cards this week!

OK, about my card....For the challenge, I used the Threading Water border punch and designed the scallop border on the top of the card. The same border was also used in the middle of the card front. The cherries and word "cherry" are from Cherries and Peaches set and the image was colored with Copic markers (Poppy / Evergreen and Y02, E37, 33). Then the image was adhered on the scalloped circle mat. The scalloped photo corners were put on the top corners. I crimped the designer paper using the paper crimper to give a little scallop dimension ;) The red gingham ribbon and the green rhinestones were added to finish the card.

Click each name to check the rest of FOF's work!!

All participants will have a chance to win Kitchen Sink gift certificate to spend KSS store! What a great way to earn free sets!! :):) This challenge will end on March 26th.
Please check out for the challenge detail and entering your card/project at KS Crew Challenge blog. I hope you will play along with us!

I used basic masking technique for the card above. I love this technique because it gives the depth without layers!! I used this beautiful new set, Multi Step Lilacs and masked a couple lilac images. The step 1 images work wonderfully to create the masks. The word "Welcome" is from the set, Other Important People. The card was simply decorated so that the stamped background could be seen.

These are the steps I did for each image (all inks are Memento unless mentioned:
(lilacs) 1st - angel pink, 2nd -
lulu lavender, 3rd - SU lavender lace, 4th - grape jelly
(leaves) - 1st - pear tart, 2nd - bamboo leaves, 3rd - cottage ivy

Here is another one, using basic masking technique. The card was used another new set, Multi Step Little Lambs. This set is absolutely cute!! It includes 2 lambs with different size! For the challenge, I stamped the smaller lamb first then masked it, and stamped the larger lamb. I also masked the main mat and sponged the bottom part to create the ground. I used this sketch from Our Creative Corner Challenge.

These are the steps I did for each image (all inks are Memento unless mentioned:
(small lamb) 1st - SU blush blossoms (1 x stamp off), 2nd -
SU blush blossoms (1 x stamp off), repeat 2nd step, 3rd - SU blush blossoms, 4th - SU creamy caramel (1 x stamp off), 5th - SU creamy caramel
(large lamb) - 1st - SU sahara sand (1 x stamp off), 2nd - SU sahara sand (1 x stamp off), repeat 2nd step, 3rd - SU sahara sand, 4th - london fog (1 x stamp off), 5th - london fog
