Jessica's Surprise Blog Hop!!

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

I have one card for one special stamping friend :) :) It’s Jessica Knutsen’ s birthday tomorrow and her stamping friends including me decided to throw The Surprise Birthday Blog Hop today – (due to the busy week for There She Goes, we’re going to do this blog hop today). If you came over from Lisa’s blog, you’re on a right place. If you like to start this hop, please visit Angela’s blog for the first hop. Hope you will have a fun this hop with us!!

Happy Birthday Jessica!!!

Wishing you a year with loads of happiness, excitement and beautiful memories!

I used one of Torico’s sets, Wrapped in Joy and made an easel card. I have submitted this to TSG Challenge 108 (TSG108) – make an easel card. I colored the image with Copic markers and adhered on the frame piece that was created with Nestabilities. The sentiment piece was also created with the same Nestabilities dies. I *heart* the DCVW paper stack I used for the card. All papers are kraft base…so fun and pretty!! To finish off the card, I embellished the bow w/ brad and pearls.

I love the color combo but it was a little hard for me…I don’t know why…maybe my mojo or maybe there are similar colors in the combo… A good thing is after some struggling, I like how the card turned out :)

I used TSG Bit of Stardust for the heart image and Bucket of Love for the sentiment. The card was embellished with the lace trim and ribbon wit pearls. Although it is hard to see from the photo but I punched the bottom of the kraft mat with heart border punch.

Yesterday, I went to my SU demo’s holiday workshop and I bought 10 sets of cardstock…yep, it’s a time to stock up! Three of the colors of ACT56 are in my order! So, you can tell I LOVE the color combo :)

Here is my card…

SONY DSC

Another holiday is just around the corner and I decided to create the card before I gear up for Christmas projects :) I used the sets, Gobble! (turkey & sign), A Drink A Day (table) and In Stitches (cross stitches) from There She Goes. Before the Gobble! set, I had only one turkey stamp…I’m very glad another turkey joined my stamp collection finally, lol!

I did some paper piecing, coloring with Copic markers and paper toile. For embellishment, I used those tiny pearls.

I just got this cute stamp set from There She Goes and thought those colors were so cute with the cat image :) I also used the sketch from Mojo Monday Sketch 163 (MOJO163). The image was colored with Copic markers and I sponged the floor part after masking the image. The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with white EP, then I embellished the black label with red rhinestones. To finish off, I used the ribbon & lace trim.

Curtain Call Color Challenge {ACT46}

curtain_call_act_46

Happy Sunday everyone~ I’m so happy to announce that I’m a new member of Stacey’s Curtain Call Color Challenge Crew!! What a wonderful way to start a new week! I hope you will enjoy my Sunday post with Curtain Call for the next few months :):)

To kick off the new color combo with new DT, Stacey has posted this beautiful inspiration {ACT46} above for you to play. Please visit Stacey’s Stamping Stage for more detail about the challenge.

Here is my take…

SONY DSC

I must say…I didn’t play outside of the box at all… you can see I used the inspiration very seriously, lol. I stamped the poppies image from TSG Poppies (gorgoues set!) and colored with Copic markers. Some of the flowers were layered so that they could extend from the circle mat.

I tried to match the border design and the circle frame and used the Basic Gray designer papers for the background. I embellished the card with the red/white baker’s twine and pearls to finish off.

Coloring, Coloring…Fun, Fun Fun!!

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

I’ve been so busy with being “Mom Taxi” this week… my son goes to VBS and Cub Scout camp every day this week and my daughter’s cheer practices, 2 days for JR High and 1 day for a private cheer team…I’m trying to squeeze my stamping time 1 hour here and 1 hour there, lol.

So far, I’ve made 2 cards I can show. I was really in a mood for coloring for the last couple cards. I’m happy that my coloring mojo is slowly coming back!

SONY DSC

The first card (above) was used the color combo from Curtain Call Color Challenge (ACT35) . I used Sugar Nellie’s Sweet Art Ebony stamp and colored with Copic markers. I sponged the tea roses with the cameo coral ink to make the roses close to the challenge color.

Stamps: Sweet Art Ebony (Sugar Nellie), Faux Ribbons – sentiment (PTI)
Paper: classic white (Flourishes), tempting turquoise, cameo coral, garden green, green galore, retired DP (SU), pink and colored dots DP (MME)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko) tempting turquoise, cameo coral, garden green (SU), Copic markers
Accessories: ribbon, Prima tea roses
Tools: big scallop oval & label 11 Nestablities

SONY DSC

The next card was used the sketch from Mercy’s Tuesday Sketch challenge 79 (MTSC79) and the color combo from Color Throwdown Challenge 98 (CTD98).

SONY DSC

The lady on the phone image is from TSG Domestic Goddess…really fun set! It was colored with Copic markers. I also used the same set for the background.

Since it’s a quite simple card, it’s not much more to say about what I did ;) However, I have to brag this….TSG is going to have a new release on Saturday night and I’m so excited one of my Japanese stamping/blogging friend, Torico is release her designed stamps for the new release! Woohoo!! Please visit TSG blog to check out the sneak peek!!

Also, it’s 2 more weeks for the Color Throwdown 100th Challenge!! It’s going to be a big celebration and many sponsor companies will offer the giveaways for the event! Mark your calendar on July 7th and hopefully you are going to play along the 100th challenge with (present & past) Color Throwdown DT!! (FYI, I’m participating as a guest CTD DT for a month of July!, Yay!!)

Stamps: Domestic Goddess (TSG)
Paper: classic white (Flourishes), chocolate chip, mellow moss, brush blossom (SU)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, rich cocoa (Tsukineko), Copic markers

TSG58 & SCS CC274 – Just a Note

SONY DSC

Hello again,

This is another catching up card with a couple challenges I wanted to try this week. Although I’m trying to finish some deadlines before leaving for my husband’s side family reunion this weekend, I just love trying challenges…and feel great when it’s accomplished, lol!

SONY DSC

For this card, I used the sketch from There She Goes challenge (TSG58) and combined with SCS Color Combination challenge 274 (CC274).

This color combo is a little hard for me to work with…I don’t know why it was….they are beautiful colors together. I decided to play TSG What’s Up Buttercup? set and colored with Copic markers. I sponged the circle mat just like Jodi showed us in Wednesday Trends HERE :) I used 2 kinds of embossing folders for the back panels and embellished with the gingham ribbon and epoxy dots.

Stamps: What’s Up Buttercup? (TSG)
Paper: classic white (Florishes), tempting turquoise, ruby red, cameo coral dp (SU)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black (Tsukineko), tempting turquoise (SU), Copic markers
Accessories: ribbon, epoxy dots
Tools: classic circle Nestablities, CB embossing folders, piercing tools

Thank you for stopping by.

TSG55 & CC271

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

I had so fun with creating this card above. It was created for There She Goes challenge 55 (TSG55) – Make an Impression….create a card using line art as your background. I also combined SCS Color Combination challenge 271 (CC271).

I used She’s A Lady set (the lady), Daily Grind set (the cafe image & sentiment) and Domestic Goddess set (the word bubble). I love some of TSG sets works mixing & matching very well and those are the ones I can play together over and over :):)
The lady image was colored with Copic markers. I used the designer paper from Basic Gray to close to the color combo and cut out the window with Label 1 Nestabitilies. The ribbon & button were simply attached to finish the card.

Here is the inside of the card.

SONY DSC

See, the images works perfectly together :):)
