Mojo97 - Spring Song

Hello everyone~
I wanted to upload this card earlier but I had to drive 4 hours to get my daughter from the trip that she took with her cousin. She didn't see her for almost 2 weeks but looks like she grew an inch :)

This card was used the sketch from Mojo Monday 97 (mojo97). The image was colored with Copics and layered the flowers and the hamming bird. You can see some are layered a few times from the photos below. I also added rhinestones and Stickles.

Stamps: Spring Song (SU)
Paper: spring moss, dark chocolate, white cardstock, In Bloom dp (PTI)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, VersaMagic sahara sand (Tsukineko), dark chocolate (PTI), Copic markers (BG07, 10, 15, 78, G21, 24, 85, R20, RV00, 06, 11, 17, 34, W1)
Accessories: ribbon (PTI), rhinestones (Michael's), brads (JoAnn's), Stickles (Ranger)

Tools: Nestabilities (Spellbinders), photo corner punch (EK Success)

Thank you for stopping by today.

FTTC26 & OCCC

TGIF everyone~
I hope your weekend will be wonderful! I'm going to be busy with a couple projects that need to be done this weekend besides card making :) Sure it would be so nice being in the place like this card...;)

This card was used the sketch from Our Creative Corner challenge (OCCC) and combined with Flourishes Timeless Tuesday challenge 26 (FTTC26) - use monochromatic colors.
{BTW, Happy 2nd birthday, Flourishes!! Woohoo!!!}

{ところでカードとは関係ありませんが、Flourishesオープン2周年おめでとうございます!!}

I love using monochromatic with my cards. This challenge is up to my alley!! I grabbed Beach Life from Flourishes and some subtle blue colors and white to create the card. The main image was stamped with VersaMark on the white cardstock and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. Then I used a brayer and inked pale blue on the mat. I also edged & sponged around the image with the darker shade of blue and added river rock color on the edge.

Stamps: Beach Life, Seaside Life (Flourishes)
Paper: soft sky (SU), white cardstock, Everyday Blessings dp (PTI)
Ink: VersaMark (Tsukineko), soft sky, river rock, baja breeze (SU)
Accessories: brads (JoAnn's), dew drops (Michael's), embossing powder

Tools: Nestabilities (Spellbinders), border punch (EK Success)

Thank you for stopping by today.

CC229, SC239 & WT229

Hello everyone~
My feeling is bitter sweet right now with SU! because I'm officially resigned as a SU demo today....:( I learned how fun stamping was through SU! last 5 years. Their product is the one of the best qualities I've experienced, and I will continue to be a great SU customer ;) Is anybody interested in me as a customer??

I combined 3 SCS challenges in the card - Color Combination challenge 229 (CC229), Sketch challenge (SC239) and Way To Use It challenge 229 (WT229).
CC229 was a kind of hard color combo to work with for me but I'm very satisfied how it was turned out. For WT229, I used the circle clip I purchased at Target for a long time ago. I inked them with StazOn Opaque white.
The leaves on the branches were created with certainly celery marker.

ShortCuts Card Blanks - Clear

Hello everyone~
I've made another card with ShortCuts Card Blanks. This card base is clear. "Oh no! My messy hands are not going to love them!! "- that was my first thought when I got them because of the past experiences of the acetate sheets... However my fear was completely disappeared after I found out that they were fingerprint-resisitant :) Aren't they cool EVER?! I'm able to enjoy the acetates more now {Yay!} You can check more fantastic ideas with using ShortCuts product at ShortCuts Blog.

I also used ShortCuts Gift Card Holder Folders inside of the card. I just separated the part of the folder and adhered it to the back of the card front so the card was able to be opened. I used There She Goes Cupcake mix & match set to design the card front simply and colored the wedding cake with Copics & Twinking H2Os (icicles). The image has great shimmers IRL.

Stamps: Cupcake mix & match, A-Z and 1,2,3 (There She Goes)
Paper: Card Blanks clear, Gift Card Holder Folders kraft (ShortCuts), soft sky (SU), white cardstock (PTI)
Ink: Memento rich cocoa (Tsukineko), soft sky (SU), Copics (B00, 02, G21), Twinkling H2Os
Accessories: pearls (Michael's), ribbon (Dollor Tree)

Tools: Nestabilities (Spellbinders), hole punch

ShortCuts Card Blanks - frosted

Hello everyone~
Here is another product I used from ShortCuts. It's called Card Blanks (Frosted) and they are heavy-weight finger resistant card base. They are also pre-scored for easy folding. Please check ShortCuts blog for more ideas :)

I used There She Goes new release, Sprea Your Wings. I stamped the butterflies on the card base with StazOn Opaque cotton white. I also stamped the big butterfly on the white cardstock and colored it with Copics. The sentiment are stamped inside. I didn't add much layers or details but the frosted card base surely makes the whole card so much prettier!!

Stamps: Spread Your Wings (There She Goes)
Paper: Card Blanks frosted (ShortCuts), more mustard, taken with teal (SU), white cardstock (PTI)
Ink: Memento rich cocoa, StazOn Opaque cotton white (Tsukineko), Copics (BG07, 11, 15, E39, YR21, 24)
Accessories: dew drops (The Robin's Nest), ribbon (Dollor Tree)

Tools: Nestabilities (Spellbinders)

OK, Here is my first project!

I used the Gift Card Holder Folder to make this holder. You don't have to measure, score or cut! Only you have to do is decorate it the way you want :) Love some of the processes can be skipped, lol.
I stamped the images from Tea For Two and colored them with Copics. I then attached the button with the vintage twine for closing.

I decorated the inside as well. Instead of inserting a gift card, I put the tea bag. You can tell my colors are inspired from the tea package, lol.

Stamps: Tea For Two, Tea For Two Special Blends (There She Goes)
Paper: gift card holder folder ivory (ShortCuts), basic black, barely banana (SU)
Ink: Memento rich cocoa, VersaMagic sahara sand (Tsukineko), Copics
Accessories: vintage button, vintage twine (PTI), rhinestones (Michael's)

Tools: corner punch (Marvy Uchida)

Thank you for stopping by. Come back to see my other projects for ShortCuts & TSG again :)

KS Monday -- July 27, 2009

Hello & Happy Kitchen Sink Monday, everyone~
I can't believe it's already Monday again!! Last week was come and gone so fast... almost too fast for me, lol.
Since I had a little time to stamp last week, I made these quick and easy card set.
I made 4 cards with the same layout and different colors. I also stamped the different sentiment for each card.
The tulip images are used from 3 Step Bitty Tulip Bouquet set and the sentiments are from Words of Comfort & Joy (New!), 3 Step Hearts & Roses and 3 Step Get Well Teddy. They were stamped slightly curvy instead of stamping with the straight line. It's a great use for clear stamps :) :) :) Please click to see the larger images.

I also made this card & envelope holder. All I need to do is to put them in a clear bag and tie with a pretty ribbon when I'm ready to give to somebody special :)

The images were stamped with these steps:
(purple tulips) 1st - lavender lace (stamping off), 2nd - lavender lace, 3rd - lovely lilac (stamping off), 4th - lovely lilac, 5th - elegant eggplant & fresh snow,

(blue tulips) 1st - cool caribbean (stamping off), 2nd - cool caribbean, 3rd - tempting turquoise (stamping off), 4th - tempting turquoise, 5th - taken with teal & fresh snow,

(yellow tulips) 1st - barely banana (stamping off), 2nd - barely banana, 3rd - marigold morning (stamping off), 4th - marigold morning, 5th - so saffron & fresh snow,

(pink tulips) 1st - pink pirouette, 2nd - pink pirouette, 3rd - pretty in pink, 4th pretty in pink, 5th rose red & fresh snow,

(leaves) 1st - kiwi kiss (stamping off), 2nd - kiwi kiss, 3rd - old olive (stamping off), 4th - old olive

Oh boy... It's a long list, lol!
Remember, you can always use a promotions code "MAKIKO10KSS" to get 10% off for your entire purchase at KSS store!

I'm back

Hello everyone~
I'm back to home late last night. The memorial service was very nice and touched. Thank you for praying for his family and us. I hope time and love will heal the pains the family is having right now. They are both gone too soon (my DH's friend was 33 and his son was 8 years old) and are deeply missed forever in our life...What we found out after arriving, they both wore the helmets but when the accident was happened, their helmets were come off...Even though we think "what if" over and over, it won't change the fact that we can't bring them back. We just have to learn from it and aware more about motorcycle safety.
I also want to mention that the boy's mother donated his organs to save other lives. I was so touched her decision under these difficult times.

We also had a little time to visit some old friends and do sightseeing. Did I mention we were stationed Ellsworth AFB before? Summer is so beautiful there. Everything seems to be clean and pretty, comparing to the place we live now...Of course I don't miss their long cold winter though, lol. I'm trying to upload some photos later.

On a way home from Dallas/Ft.Worth airport last night, we recieved another tragic news. My brother in law (my DH's brother)'s best friend and his girlfriend were dead last night. I don't want to tell the details because it is such a shocking news for both his and her family and friends.
I'm just praying they are going to find some peace and comfort during these difficult times.

OK, tomorrow is There She Goes Sneak Peek and Blog Hop Challenge. Come back to check my card with the new set!!
There She Goes challenge 13 (TSG13) has posted at Jessica's blog. The challenge is opened from Friday through Sunday. Click HERE for more details.

Before I leave

Hello everyone~
No cards to show you today (and a couple days).... I just want to let you know that I'm leaving for South Dakota to attend a memorial service for my husband's best friend and his son. They were killed by a motorcycle accident last Friday...I can't even have a word to describe what his wife and family are going through right now. We all have devastated the sad news....
Please wear your helmet even when you are going to ride a block. Please...

I will be back on Thursday night and hope I go back to my room to make something to show you for this weekend. The good thing is There She Goes Sneak Peek is already scheduled for Saturday :)

Hope the rest of your week will be wonderful!! See you soon~

KS Monday -- July 20, 2009

Hello and Happy Kitchen Sink Monday, everyone!
Today's card is another sweet baby card with using Multi Step Baby set. The colors I used are definitely for a baby girl...but it's easily alternated to the different colors for the boys.
The main mat is very simple...I just stamped the block image and the words. The block was layered with the demensional adhesives. When I stamped the words, I lined them slightly curvy to fit the circle shape. I also stamped the booties and the words on the patterned paper to make my own patterned paper -ahh it's a joy of stamping, baby lol.

The images were stamped with these steps: (block) 1st - sweet blush, 2nd - pink pirouette, 3rd - berry sorbet, (booties) 1st - pink pirouette, 2nd - pink pirouette, 3rd - berry sorbet, 4th - berry sorbet

Please check Flourishes blog for more information about this event if you are interested to send your cards.

After the colored image was masked, I stamped the shilouette image and sponged yellow and blue inks inside the embossed rectangle. To finish the card, the sentiment was stamped and the brads were attached.

I took my inspiration from the image below.

It does not feel like tropical but I thought some of TSG shilouette stamps would work very well! I used Act of Kindness for the all images and the sentiment. I used shadow stamping technique for the each image. And you probably have noticed that I attached the dew drops to complete the card, lol.

The inside of the card was also stamped with the same technique.

FTTC24 -- Seashells Tag

Hello everyone~
I made this quick project for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday 24 (FTTC24). The challenge was to make a tag. I was so excited the new stamps from Flourishes came to my door!! As soon as I read what the challenge was, I knew what kind of tags I wanted to make!!

I had these seashells collection for a while and needed to do something. All of shells are come from beaches in Florida and Misawa, Japan. I just put them in a jar very carefully and attached the finished tag with jute twine and the PTI vintage button.
The stamps I used are called Seaside Life. I stamped the shell in the middle first and stamped the other 2 shells after masking the first stamped shell. After water coloring them with reinkers and Twinkling H2Os, I masked the all images and sponged with gold ink, edged with blue ink, and stamped the flourish images from Ornamental Elements on the background. For the layer mat, I edged with white ink, wrapped the twine and attached the dew drops.

Stamps: Seaside Life, Ornamental Elements (SU)
Paper: sahara sand (SU) watercolor paper (Strathmore)
Ink: India Black (Superior), Brilliance - galaxy gold, peacock (Tsukineko), sahara sand, going gray, baja breeze (SU), Twinkling H2Os
Accessories: twine (SU), dew drops (The Robin's Nest), button (PTI), jute twine

Tools: Nestabilities (Spellbinders), circle punch (SU)

CC227 & SC237 -- Anniversary card

Hello everyone~
Today my hubby & I are celebrating our 14th wedding anniversary. Unfortunately he is in Mississippi right now. After 16 years of Military life, we get used to celebrating the special days over the phone, lol. The difference between 14 years ago and now is that our relationship is stronger and I make an anniversary card instead of buying one, lol.

I used the sketch from SCS Sketch challenge 237 (SC237). Since I didn't do Color Combination chalenge 227 (CC227) yesterday, I decided to throw it into the challenge. I'm glad I did. They are very elegant and beautiful colors.
The heart and border were stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with PEARL embossing powder by Kodomo No Kao. I LOVE the look of pearl and I totally reccomend the quality of the powder. Wish I got the different colors while I was in Japan...

OK, back to my card...I dabbed purple and yellow colors with sponge dauber over the embossed images and some gray for around the heart. I stamped other images randomly on the heart mat. I decided to layer the same heart image over the original one with the dimensional adhesives at the last minutes. I think it made the heart stand out more.

Stamps: Ever After, Hugs & Wishes, Bella's Border (SU)

CAS23 -- Inspired by Zen Blossoms I

Hello everyone~
I've been looking through Art.com website. Boy, you can spend all day just browsing the beautiful arts!! It was today's SCS Clean & Simple challenge (CAS23). I found the poster by Kate Knight for the inspiration. All of her posters are right on my array and I became a fan of her art instantly!!

I used Bloom set from There She Goes. I stamped the cherry blossom image with brown ink and colored with Copics. Then I painted the images with VersaMark pen and heat embossed with clear embossing powder. I added turquoise blue with a brayer & sponge and stamped the cherry blossom image with the same turquoise blue ink.

Copics I used: RV02, RV04, RV11, RV17, E21, E27, E29, YG03, YG11, C03

Stamps: Bloom (There She Goes)
Paper: chocolate chip, tempting turquoise (SU) white cardstock (PTI)
Ink: Memento rich cocoa (Tsukineko), tempting turquoise, cool caribbean (SU), Copics
Accessories: rhinestones (Michael's)

Tools: oval punch (SU)
