Flourishes Birthday Blog Hop!!

Hello everyone~ It's a special celebration for Flourishes!! The Flourishes owner, Jan Marie is turning a year older and we'd thought to celebrate with the first Birthday Blog Hop on Thursday (today) and Friday (tomorrow)!!
In addition with the blog hop, we are featuring a special stamp set in honor of her day! Let Them Eat Cake was designed by artist Becky Fleck with a Marie Antoinette flair and it's available now in the Flourishes Store!

So, if you hopped here from Christine's blog, you are in the right place. If you not, you may want to visit Flourishes Blog to start the "Hopping Through the Decades"!!

Need sun shades? LOL. I wonder if you can guess what decades my card is represented... If you guessed it was 60's, I did a good job :) I've always loved the 60's psychedelic arts & colors and I took my inspiration from some of these groovy and psychedelic posters. I love using colors and I had so fun with creating this card although the color combo turned out so bright and a way outside my comfortable bubble :):)

For the main mat and background were created using the resist technique. The glossy cardstock was filled with the beautiful rectangle image (the largest rectangle) using VersaMark. Then using Kaleidacolor (Spectrum) ink and the brayer, I inked the stamped cardstock, rolling the brayer diagonally. Another image from the set also stamped on the pink with the white pigment ink mat. The bottom part of the cupcake was colored with Copics and the top part and the sentiment were stamped with the same Kaleidacolor. The turquoise ribbon, purple button, pearls including the one for the cherry were added to complete the card.

So, Want to win Let Them Eat Cake set?
All you have to do is to leave a comment on all 14 of our designers' post this Thursday and Friday. Once you leave a comment on all 14, go back to the dedicated post of Flourishes blog and you just need to leave a comment saying, "I hopped through the decades with Jan Marie!" Two names will be drawn on Saturday at 12 pm CST from all those who participated. The winners will receive their very own set of Let them Eat Cake along with some other goodies!

Now head over to Leslie's blog to continue the hop!

Stamps: Let Them Eat Cake (Flourishes)
Paper:
classic white (Flourishes), tempting turquoise, glossy cardstock (SU), raspberry fizz (PTI)
Ink: Memento tuxedo black, Kaleidacolor spectrum, VersaMark (Tsukineko), fresh snow (PTI), Copic markers
Accessories: pearls, ribbon, button, vintage twine

Tools: Nestabilities, corner punches, border punch, brayer

Thank you for stopping by.
