FTTC129–Favorite Flowers

SONY DSC

Happy Tuesday everyone~

So, it’s August now and I was wondering if your area is burning hot right now… In the north east Texas, we are having extremely hot and dry conditions, and looks like that is still continued through out next 7 days. My son’s first football practice was held yesterday and the temperature was still 105 degree at 6 pm!  I’m just glad all boys were tough enough … I was sweating just sitting on my picnic chair, lol! It’s too hot for me to enjoy being outside…cannot wait the cooler weather!

Anyway, in my cool stamping room, I made a card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC129) . Betty is challenging us to create a card/project using the favorite flower (or flowers)!! you can visit Flourishes blog for more information about the challenge. Can’t wait to see your beautiful flower creation!

I have a quite few favorite flowers and Flourishes carries so many beautiful flowers. The hardest one was which sets I wanted to use for the challenge! I finally picked Sunflowers because it’s most popular flower in summer time and my favorite summer flower too. I colored the image with Copic markers (Sunflower, Evergreen and Flesh Tones 2), trimmed and adhered on the card. The pennants were stamped with Birthday Pennants and cut with Spellbinders Lacey Nested Pennants. The three small banners and sentiment banner were also cut with the same pennants die set. The card was designed by following the sketch from Mojo Monday Sketch 202 (MOJO202). To finish off, I embellished with the black rhinestones.

Yellow and black: one of my favorite color combinations. The background is a perfect compliment to the sunflower

Ooh, a great way to use those pennants, Maki...I have to remember this sketch and use it sometime. Lovely sunflower and I do love seeing a patch of them along the roadside...usually in someone's vegetable garden. HOT is right! It will be 100 degrees here in Alabama today and I don't know the heat index, but I'm sure at least 110. But, I have to say summer is my favorite season. Crazy me. :-)

Great coloring on this sunflower and I love the way you used it in this particular sketch. I love sunflowers, too. Someone near me grows a huge field of them every summer and I get to see them any time I go anywhere.
