Sweet_Nature_fllc_1-2_edite

I was inspired the colors, flowers and some textures from the photo. I used the image from Sweet Nature and colored it with Copic markers. Then I added the little tag that was created with Tiny Flowers & Tags and Tailor-made Classic Tags Die. It was embellished with the button with vintage twine. The card was designed with Pink Paislee designer paper and paper doily. I added the pleated ribbon underneath the doily. The orange paper ribbon was stamped with script stamp and the pearl was dressed to finish off.

This card was used the sketch from Mojo Monday Sketch 231 (MOJO231).

The Copic Collections I mostly used.

    FTTC129–Favorite Flowers

    SONY DSC

    Happy Tuesday everyone~

So, it’s August now and I was wondering if your area is burning hot right now… In the north east Texas, we are having extremely hot and dry conditions, and looks like that is still continued through out next 7 days. My son’s first football practice was held yesterday and the temperature was still 105 degree at 6 pm!  I’m just glad all boys were tough enough … I was sweating just sitting on my picnic chair, lol! It’s too hot for me to enjoy being outside…cannot wait the cooler weather!

Anyway, in my cool stamping room, I made a card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC129) . Betty is challenging us to create a card/project using the favorite flower (or flowers)!! you can visit Flourishes blog for more information about the challenge. Can’t wait to see your beautiful flower creation!

    SONY DSC

I have a quite few favorite flowers and Flourishes carries so many beautiful flowers. The hardest one was which sets I wanted to use for the challenge! I finally picked Sunflowers because it’s most popular flower in summer time and my favorite summer flower too. I colored the image with Copic markers (Sunflower, Evergreen and Flesh Tones 2), trimmed and adhered on the card. The pennants were stamped with Birthday Pennants and cut with Spellbinders Lacey Nested Pennants. The three small banners and sentiment banner were also cut with the same pennants die set. The card was designed by following the sketch from Mojo Monday Sketch 202 (MOJO202). To finish off, I embellished with the black rhinestones.

Be sure to visit and congratulate Beate Johns for a newest member of Friends of Flourishes and Allison Cope for August Guest FOF!!!

I used the newest set, Sweet Nature. The image was stamped with Memento tuxedo black and colored with Copic markers (Raspberry and Evergreen) The circle mat was sponged with Memento london fog. The sentiments mat was also sponged with Memento lilac posies. I picked the designer paper for the background because it was similar to the wicker texture. To finish off, I added the rhinestones and seam binding ribbon with rhinestone brad.

I used the sketch from Mojo Monday Sketch 200 (MOJO200) – Congratulations on the 200th sketch!!

My 16th wedding anniversary is on Friday, July 15th and I decided to use Wedding Bliss set. The image was stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with white embossing powder. When I stamped the sentiment, I curved it to fit the circle mat.  The background was embossed with the embossing folder. To finish off, I embellished with satin ribbon and tea roses. I also dressed with the rhinestones.

    FTTC108– SEW Pretty!!

    SONY DSC

    Happy Tuesday everyone~

It’s time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC108) . Cindy Haffner is our challenge host and she is challenging us to *SEW* :) You can use real stitches or faux…which ever you prefer. Can’t wait your *SEW* pretty creation!!

I used Butterflies & Blossoms set for the images and sentiment. The flower image & sentiment were stamped on the white circle mat. I stamped the extra flower image & butterflies on the scrap and colored all images with Copic markers. Then I trimmed the ones on the scraps and adhered on the main mat.

    SONY DSC

For the SEW-ing challenge, I used my neglected sewing machine and zig-zag stitched the lace trim, embossed border and pleated ribbon. To finish off, I embellished with swirl pearls to look like the butterfly’s trail.

The sketch is come from Mojo Monday Sketch (MOJO181) and the color combo was inspired from CR84FN Color Challenge 18 (CR84FN18) .

    SONY DSC

I think I made 5x7 card only a couple times before…so this was a great challenge to push myself out of the comfort zone ;) I decided to make a Valentine’s Day card with using Fanciful Flourishes set. I used the sketch from Mojo Monday 174 (MOJO174) and kept my colors just 2 different shades of pink and vanilla colors. The BG was dry embossed with the texture plate. The heart was stamped on the vintage ivory cardstock four times (3 hearts for the dimensional hearts and 1 heart for the back piece. Then I adhered the heart on the layers I made with Nestablities. I used Webster’s Pages paper and stamped the saying from Tag Lines set. I embellished the ribbon, baker’s twine, button and flourishes pearls with tea roses.

Beautiful color combo isn’t it? To be honest though, I had to try very hard with using the colors… I just hardly use “always artichoke” kind of green and had a hard time to decided what stamps I should use… I really like how it was turned out in the end :):)

I used Flourishes From the Garden set and water colored the image with re-inkers.

This card is also submitted to Mojo Monday Sketch 155 (MOJO155) and Flourishes Bring Back Beautiful Challenge (BBB02)…I colored the image with the rustic look.

    Mojo134 & CTD88

    Hello everyone~
It's been such beautiful days here in Texas. My kids started to swim in a pool a couple days ago...it's still too cold for me but they don't care, lol.

I made today's card with Mojo Monday sketch 134 (MOJO134) and Color Throwdown challenge 88 (CTD88) - tangerine tango, basic gray, so saffron/white. I've had Because of You set from Verve Stamps for a while and finally got to ink them :p

Speaking of the set, my daughter just started a card making blog with her cousin and their latest card was used. Will you check it out? Here is their blog: H and K Creations. They can get together only few times a month so it won't be updated often but if they know people are checking their blog, they will be so excited and make more cards ;)

OK, back to my card...I knew the retired SU designer papers would work for the sketch and the color combo!! The paper flowers were also made with the same papers and scallop circle punch.

Stamps: Because of You (Verve Stamps)
Paper: basic gray, so saffron, Haiku dp (SU), classic white (Flourishes)
Ink: basic gray, tangerine tango, so saffron (SU)
    Accessories: ribbon, pearl brad
Tools: classic rectangle Nestabilities, scallop circle punch, scallop border punch

FTTC61 -- Bought It, Use It!!

    Happy Tuesday everyone~
It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC61) ! This week Barbara Anders is our host! Barbara is challenging us to use the stuff we bought. A "bought it use it" challenge so to speak. Now, if you purchased some pretty embellishments and put them away for a very special card, or you got some fancy smancy tool/punch that you just had to have, or better yet, you bought a gorgeous pack of designer papers and you have yet to use a piece, this is YOUR challenge! Tear off those wrappers girls, if we bought it we are using it this week! You have our permission! We would love to see what you create with the stuff you bought!

I need to do this challenge personally more often, lol. Those embellishments and designer papers on the shelves are very pretty just looking at but I know they are much prettier if I use ;p My card was created with those items I had to have but I needed to use :)
The image from DIY Topiaries was stamped on the classic ivory mat that was cut using Big Scalloped Oval Nestabilities. Then I colored it with Copic markers. The flower part was layered with dimensional adhesives. The greeting was stamped using Taglines set. For the rest of the card, I used the designer papers are from Basic Gray Origins, scalloped edge ribbon, pearls, and and mini tea roses from Prima.

This card is also entered Mojo Monday Sketch challenge 133 (MOJO133) and the color combo is from Color Throwdown challenge 86 (CTD86)....I was too late to enter but the challenge was hosted by Barbara --Awesome color combo, Barbara!

Now, check out what the rest of FOF have created for the challenge!!

    KS Monday -- January 25th, 2010

    Happy Kitchen Monday, everyone~
First of all....I just wanna shout "WHO DAT!!!" Congratulations New Orleans Saints for becoming the NFC Champion for the first time!! Now, I can't wait to watch Superbowl in 2 weeks!

I made this birthday card for today's KS Monday. My son's friend is celebrating his birthday this Friday, so I thought it would be fun to make a boy's b-day card using KSS. Kitchen Sink Stamps carries many images for guys including this newly release set, Friends of the Moon. This set is also incorporated with other KSS sets! For example, I used Multi Step Owl and Autumn Moon with FOTM set. I'm so lovin' the rocket and shooting stars!

These are the steps I did for each image (all inks are Memento) :
    (Moon)
    1st - dandelion 2nd - cantaloupe, 3rd- cantaloupe

The rocket was stamped with Memento paris dusk and colored with Copic markers. I used the sketch from the last week's sketch of Mojo Monday (MOJO122).
