Just a quick note....

Hi everyone,
I have a quick note for you.

Jessica, the fantastic owner of There She Goes, just announced about the Cutomer Reward Points.
Click here to find out what the special offering is!

My DH came home from the business trip for the first time since July!! Kids and I were so excited with this surprise. The sad thing is that he gets to stay until Tuesday, and he won't be back for a while again :( He is a hydro tester for pipelines and he has to go to the places where the pipeline tests are needed.
We are trying to spend a precious time with him as much as we can, and I'll be back here sometime next week.

I hope you have a great weekend and see you soon!!

CC181 -- I LOVE IT!!

It's a beautiful HOT summer day here in Texas!!

I made this card for Color Combination challenge 181.
I really love to add the color with black and other neutral colors (like white, vanilla and in this case kraft) like this color combo.

After I saw the some of the cards with Bloomin' Beautiful set, I decided to use the set, too.
I stamped the image with basic black on the watercolor paper and colored with Stampin' Up! reinkers and the watercolor brush. The flower part were made one more image to add the dimention.
I used Broque Motif with very vanilla craft and creamy cocoa on the kraft panel. And then I mounted the flower image on the panel.
I used the designer papers for the bakground and Copic multi liner for the black stitches.

Bloomin' Beautiful
Baroque Motifs

Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful, Broque Motifs (Stampin' Up!), Limitless Labels - sentiment (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: basic black, kraft, rose red designer papers (Stampin' Up!), watercolor paper (Strathmore)
Ink: basic black, creamy cocoa, very vanilla, various reinkers (Stampin' Up!), Copic multi liner (.Too)
Accessories: ribbon, pearls (Hobby Lobby), brad (Stampin' Up!), Nestabilities (Spellbinders), tag die (Provo Crafts)

I will be back to post more cards later today if I can.
Have a great day!

Faux Dry Embossing

Kids are off to school!! I'm loving to spend a quiet time :)
I even have a time to make a card and update my blog from this morning!

I made the card for Technique Lover's challenge 183. The technique for the challenge is Faux dry embossing. If you are not familiar with the technique, click the link I highlighted above. Lynn attched the great photos with the tutorial.

I stamped the butterfly and the flower with using the technique. I added the rhinestones on the butterfly. The center of the flower was cut out and I adhered the sentiment panel from the back of the flower. I also added the ribbons, photo corners, brads, and dots with the white gel pen.

These photos are the close-up of the center panel and the card inside.

Stamps: Butterfly Kisses, Floral Frenzy, Mixed Messages, Birthday Basics-inside (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: summer sunrise, designer paper (Papertrey Ink), chocolate chip, very vanilla (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: summer sunrise, dark chocolate (Papertrey Ink), whisper white craft (Stampin' Up!) white gel pen (Uni-ball)
Accessories: ribbon (Papertrey Ink), photo corner punch, circle punch (Stampin' Up!), brads (Making Memories), rhinestones (Michael's), Nestabilities (Spellbinders), flower die-cut (Provo Crafts)

Now I have to get off my chair and start vacuuming the floor.
Hope you have a wonderful day!

Featured Stamper 81

Now my kids are in bed, I get to upload my card for Featured Stamper 81.
The Featured Stamper is Patricia (aka Kokirose on SCS)!!
She is not only a great stamper, but also always leave awesome comments for many stampers!
Go to check out her gallery here.

The card I cased is here

I used all material from Papertrey Ink. I love the soft colors and trying to find the great color combo from their colors.
I kept the sketch and the theme as same because they are my favorite part of her card. I used the different stamps, colors and materials. I also did paper piercing instead of using the photo corners.

Stamps: Piece of Cake, Limitless Labels - sentiment (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: spring moss, lemon tart, white cardstock, designer papers (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: lemon tart, lavender moon, spring moss, dark chocolate (Papertrey Ink)
Accessories: ribbon (Papertrey Ink), embossing folder (Provo Crafts), paper piercing kit (Stampin' Up!), Nestabilities(Spellbinders)

I hope you have a wonderful week!

The Cards I made -- the week of Jul 28

I admit....I love challenges!! I wish I didn't have to sleep so that I could try all of the challenges, lol. And I also admit..... I have so many cards I haven't uploaded on my blog. I 'm working on catching up in the next few days to upload the cards I made for the last couple of months. I already uploaded them on my SCS gallery if you want to check them out!

You can check the sketch for this card here. I colored the image with the reinkers and watercolor brush. I used some new In-Color and designer papers from Stampin' Up! Aren't they so pretty?
The stamp set is the one of the free stamp sets for Hostess. It is the one of my favorite stamp set in the new idea book & catalog. I just love the detailed stamps. It's so fun to color!!
Stampin' Up!

Stamps: Serene Spring (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: riding hood red, kiwi kiss, designer papers (Stampin' Up!), watercolor paper (Strathmore)
Ink: Palette noir black (Superior), various reinkers (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories: ribbon (Michael's), flowers (Prima), brads (Making Memories)

This card is for SCS's Way To Use It 177 challenge. The challenge is to use scraps.
I had a ton of scraps, and I don't like to throw away. This challenge is a really great idea and I should do it from time to time to ged rid of some scarps.
I cut the scraps from Ginger Blossoms with 1" square punch and adhered them on the back panel. I also found the scraps for the borders, the flowers to add on the card. The main image was colored with Stampin' markers and the watercolor brush.
このカードは、SCSのWay To Use It 177のチャレンジで作ったものです。

Stamps: Embrace Life (Stampin' Up!), Spiral Bouquet-sentiment (Papertrey Ink)

This card is for SCS's Limited Supplies challenge 179. The challenge is to make a card make someone smile.
I love this owl from Papertrey Ink. Every time I stamp it, it makes me smile. You cannot help smiling this innocent owl, can you?
I stamped the owl, branch, and flowers on the white cardstock. When I adhered them on the background, I made a little alternation for the branch and the one of the flower to look like the owl broke them.
The owl and grass were colored with Copic markers. The sky were sponged with aqua mist ink.
Papertrey Ink

Stamps: Wise Owl, Take a Bough (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: plum pudding, dark chocolate, white cardstock, designer paper (Papertrey Ink)

Accessories: photocorner punch (Stampin' Up!)

SCS's Inspiration Challenge 139 would be the one of my favorite inspirations!! You can check the Pink Lemonade Bags here. I took my inspiration from this bag.

On the pink cardstock, I stamped Doodle This stamp set with the black ink. And then I colored them with Stampin' markers for the more details.
I mounted the ribbon and stamped the sentiment with the white craft ink. I used white gel pen for the faux stitches.
My favorite part of the creation was that it took only 10-15 minutes to make this card!

Ink: basic black, whisper white craft, Stampin' markers (Stampin' Up!), Signo gel pen (Uni-ball)
Accessories: ribbon (Papertrey Ink)

OCC Christmas In July challenge

I made this card for Our Creative Corner challenge. The challenge is Christmas In July. In the craft world, July is the great month to start working for the Holiday season. I saw my local craft stores started decorating the Christmas trees. Some of people think it's still so early to think about Christmas but it's always nice to plan ahead, isn't it?

I used the designer papers for the card and the colors were chosen from the ones on the paper.
The snowman was stamped with Brillance black ink and colored with Copic markers. It was added some drizzles with frosted lace Stickles (love it!)
The sentiment was stamped with cranberry crisp ink on the white cardstock and I cut it with my xacto knife.

Stamps: Holiday Tag Team, The Snowflake Spot (Stampin' Up!), Snowflake Serenade - sentiment (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: bravo burgundy, designer papers (Stampin' Up!), white cardstock (Strathmore)
Ink: Brilliance (Tsukineko), bashful blue, cranberry crisp (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories: ribbons, brads, corner rounder punch (Stampin' Up!), Nestabillities (Spellbinders)

OCC Sketch Challenge

This is for another Our Creative Corner challenge. The sketh for the challenge is here.
I was inspired the card by Lynda Benden from OCC. I made the ocean waves for the wave on the sketch, just like Lynda did.
I used Prismacolor pencils and gamsol to color the girl. I cut her out and mounted on the central panel.
These desiner papers are from KI Memories. I bought them about 5-6 years ago. I think they are really fun for the summer theme. I don't know why I didn't use them until now....

Stamps: Tilda (Magnolia Stamps), sentiment ($1 stamp from Michael's)
Paper: tempting turquoise (Stampin' Up!), white cardstock (Strathmore), designer papers (KI Memories)
Ink: Brilliance, VarsaMagic (Tsukineko), Prisamcolor pencils (Sanford), white gel pen (Uni-ball)
Accessories: ribbon (Stampin' Up!)

I'm sorry that this is so long. Thank you for taking your time to read all of it!
I promise the next one is going to be short, lol.

IC142 & OCC challenges

How's your weekend so far?
School is going to start from Monday and I'm trying to get my kids' backpacks together. I will miss my kids are not around during the day, but I can't wait to have some quiet time!!

I have 2 cards to show you for this post.

IC142 challenge

This card is for SCS's Inspiration challenge 142 -- Marimekko Umbrellas.
You can check Marimekko Umbrellas here and the photo above is the one I took my inspiration.

I stamped the flowers with VarsaMark and the blue dye ink ( I put VarsaMark first and then a dye ink without cleaning VarsaMark -- I clean a stamp everytime after I stamp on a paper so that VarsaMark ink pad doesn't get dirty) on the very vanilla cardstock, and I heat-embossed them with the clear embossing powder. I do this technique when I don't have a pigment ink I want to use.
After the embossed image was cool, I stamped the leaves with the brown ink. The cool thing about it is that the brown color doesn't stick on the flowers because they were heat embossed. It's the one of my favorite techniques all the time!

Stamps: Print Petals (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: chocolate chip, cool caribbean, very vanilla (Stampin' Up!), designer paper (Papertrey Ink)
Ink: chocolate chip, cool caribbean (Stampin' Up!), VarsaMark (Tsukineko)
Accessories: ribbon, photo corner punch, clear embossing powder (Stampin' Up!), brad, buckle (We R Memory Keepers), flower (Prima)

OCC Challenge

This card is for Our Creative Corners challenge.
I didn't get to play thier challenge last week so I combined it with this week's challenge. You can check about the challenges here and here.

I stamped the leaves with the colors from the challenge on the white cardstock. The scalloped border was made with the border punch from Fiskars. I chose the felt flowers to make the card look warm like autumn leaves.
I can't wait a fall is coming here in Texas!!

Stamps: Beautiful Blooms, Floral Frenzy (Papertrey Ink)
Paper: pumpkin pie, chocolate chip, old olive, whisper white (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: pumpkin pie, ruby red, old olive, chocolate chip (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories: felt flowers (red-Queens & Co. orange- JoAnn's) ribbon (American Crafts) border punch (Fiskars)

Thank you for visiting。
Have a wonderful day!

Thank You!

Thank you everyone for the warm congrats and encouragements!
It's definitely a big step for me and my hobby.
Check Jessica's blog here for other awesome DT members. I'm so honored to be with this awesome members, and I can't wait to see their fabulous works!

I have 3 cards to show you today.

WT180 & LSC182 challenge

I combined 2 challenges to this card.
SCS's Way To Use It challenge 180 is to tear the paper(s) and Limited Supplies challenge 182 is to use the stamp set and material you haven't use for a long time.

I stamped the tea cup and flowers with StazOn and colored them with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol (I just dipped the pencils in the gamsol and colored). For the tea cup panel, I used hand tearing. The designer paper was distressed with distressing tool. The mulberry paper was torn with using water. I sponged the Distress dye inks on the all papers for distressing.

Stamps: Tea Cups & Pansies (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: elegant eggplant, more mustard, very vanilla, mulberry paper, designer paper (Stampin' Up!)

SC190 & CC180 Challenge

I also combined 2 challenges to this card.
You can look at SCS's Sketch challenge 190 here.
The colors for the Color Combinations challenge 180 is shown below.

I really like the color combo and sketch! The triangle panels are dry embossed the embossing folders. The elephant, the ear and the flower were stamped on the white cardstock. I cut and pieced them together. I put the embellishments to make it more girly.

My sister-in-law is having a baby anytime now. If the baby is a girl, this is going to be sent to her. I wish I could fly to Japan and see them.... I hope my SIL and the new baby are going to be fine.

Stamps: Wild About You, Holidays & Wishes (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: ruby red, blush blossom, close to cocoa wisper white (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: close to cocoa, blush blossom, ruby red (Stampin' Up!)
Accessories: flowers (Prima), brads (Making Memories), Nestabilities (Spellbinders), word window punch (Stampin' Up!)

WT179 Challenge

SCS's Way To Use It challenge 179 was to use Copics. I just started to collect Copics. I colored the girl and leaves with Copics. I'm still learning shading but it was so fun to color this cute girl from Magnolia Stamps. I cut out the girl and mount it on the leaves to look like she was sittng on them.
I used Stickles on the wings and the applique on the pants.

SCSのWay To Use Itチャレンジ179は、コピックを使うチャレンジでした。

Stamps: Tilda, Leaves (Magnolia)
Paper: kiwi kiss, robin hood red, designer papers (Stampin' Up!), watercolor paper (Strathmore)

This challenge was the challenge for me. I decided to use the acetate sheet to cover the whole card. DTGD08Julia -- "Stitching"

As you can see, this challenge was to stitch on the card. I was a little nervous for this challenge because I don't use my sewing machine for my cards.
I stamped the each quilt blocks and colored them with Stampin' markers. And then I cut and adhered them on the pink cardstock. I sewed the straight lines between the quilt blocks and the zig zag stiches around the quilt panel.
By the time I finished the card, I was comfortable with using the sewing machine. Will I sew my cards for the future? Definitely!!

DTGD08Kittie -- "Make a Scene"

I used the masking technique to make the scene. I stamped the fences and masked them first. Next I stamped the trees and masked them. For the last, I stamped the house. I colored all of the images with Copic markers. The back scene was sponged with the green and blue inks.

DTGD08Laura -- "Rip, Tear and Distressing Your Papers"

Honestly, I'm not goot at distressing. I enjoy doing it, but I don't know when to stop to make the nice distressed look. For this card I tored the plum cardstock with the freehands and I crumbled it to make the wrinkles. To make the papers look more distressed, I did DTP and sponged some. I also used the distressing tool for the eges. I wanted the card to look shabby-chic but does it look like it?

Paper: sage shadow, pale plum, very vanilla, designer paper (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: creamy cocoa, pale plum, sage shadow, perfect plum & pale plum Stampin' markers

This was a fun challenge!! I chose the bright red, blue and yellow. Isn't the card perfect for a surfer dude? lol.
I stamped the surfboards with the red, blue and yellow inks, and I colored them with Prismacolor and gamsol. For the background, I stamped the flowers and the sentiment "Summer days" randomly.

DTGD08Jenn -- "Inspiration challenge" Make a card with using the cake photo as a inspiration.

The dress was stamped on the printed vellum. To make the background, I stamped the same dress stamp on the white cardstock first and masked the dress and the egdes of the cardstock. Then I stamped the script and swirl stamps. After the ink was dried, I sponged the green ink around the egde.
I took the inspiration from the green ribbon, and I attached my ribbon wavy like the photo.

Stamps: dress (Inkadinkado), French Script, Baroque Motifs (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: green galore, basic black, whisper white (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: green galore (Stampin' Up!), Brilliance (Tsukineko), distress dye ink (Ranger)

DTGD08Sharon -- "Stamp Simply"

This challenge was to make a simple card. Sharon says "if you use beautiful things, you don't have to DO much" I think it's so true!! I chose this beautiful flower stamp and I just made this image do all the work.
I used Nestabillities to make the window so that the inside of the card could be seen.
The flower was colored with Copics and sponged the opening part only. "K" was supposed to stand for "Kindness", but I guess you can use as an initial for the person's name that starts with "K".

Stamps: Bloomin' Beautiful, Baroque Motifs, Just K (Stampin' Up!)
Paper: lavender lace, very vanilla (Stampin' Up!)
Ink: Brilliance (Tsukineko), Copice (.Too)

DTGD08Joan -- "Silhouettes"

This challenge is using solid object stamps and to make a card. When I use solid stamps, I love to make shadow looks. I actually used only 2 stamps for making background! For some of the flowers, I stamped with the peach color and heat embossed with the clear embossing powder. For the rest of the flowers, I just stamped off with the peach color. For the leaves, I just stamped with the green color for the leaves and light sand color for the shadows.

DTGD08Taylor, DTGD08RoseAnn -- I combined 2 challenges for this card. Taylor's challenge is "Cupcake Challenge" and Rose Ann's challenge is "Let's Get Flappy!"

For these challenge, I had to use the cupcake image (s) and also make the flap card. You can find the flap card tutorial here.
The cupcake was paper pierced for just the bottom part, and the top part was colored with Copics. To make it look yummier and sweeter, I used frosted lace Stickles. I also added the jewel for the cherry {Yum!}
My flap card is 4 1/2" x 4 1/2". For the flap part, I used Nestabillities and the cupcake panel is actually holding the flap to stay shut.

Stamps: cupcake (Lockhart Stamp Company), Birthday Basics (Papertrey Ink)
