Curtain Call {ACT54}

curtain_call_54_lemonannie

Happy Halloween everyone!

It’s time for Curtain Call Color Challenge {ACT54}!! I hope you are having a wonderful & safe weekend. We went to two fall festivals yesterday. Kids have already gotten some candies that will last for a month…but I’m planning to take my son to Trick or Treat tonight. My daughter is not going…she thinks she is too old for that…makes me sad a little :( but I respect her decision.

OK, this week’s Curtain Call is a kind of monochromatic color scheme and I enjoy playing with those beautiful orange/rustic colors. So I made two cards :) I will look forward to seeing what you create! Please visit Stacey’s Stamping Stage for more detail about the challenge.

SONY DSC

This card was used  the sketch from Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge (TESC132). The image was colored with Copic markers. To finish off, I embellished the card with satin ribbon & rhinestones. The stamps are from Unity Kit of Month set.

SONY DSC

I made this card with one layer only… I found the fun one layer sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping (FTL114) and I decided to make a quick fall card using the leaves from Unity. I think those colors work so wonderfully with the leaves!

The Curtain Call Crew has samples to show you today, too, so make sure you stop by to see:

FTTC90 – Anything Goes but…

SONY DSC

Happy Tuesday everyone~

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC90)!! It is the last Tuesday of the month so we have a guest challenge host. This month's guest is Linda Coughlin. Yippie!! Linda is challenging us to Anything Goes But Buttons and Bows. There are so many wonderful embellishments to use for accents on our paper crafts, but all too often we fall back on our old favorites. This week, let's stretch ourselves and see how creative we can be in embellishing our cards. We want to see what you can do without using buttons or bows.

SONY DSCIt’s a kind of tough not to use ribbons for me but I managed to clear Linda’s challenge with using rhinestones & pearls :):) I decided to use the gorgeous set, Fanciful Flourishes.  I stamped the silhouette butterfly with Memento Sweet Plum on the white cardstock pieces and vellum cardstock pieces three times. Then I stamped the flourish pattern butterfly with Brilliance Graphite Black on each vellum butterfly. After cutting out the vellum butterflies, I attached them on the cardstock butterfly, just the body part so that the wings are lifted up from the base.

I used the sentiment from Sweet Violets set and added the rhinestones on the butterflies & card base. To finish off, I also added the pearls on the scallop lace border.

I used the sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping (FTL113).

Be sure to check out other FOF’s creations!

KS Monday – Oct 25th, 2010

SONY DSC

Happy Monday everyone~

It’s time for Kitchen Sink Monday, y’all!! lol. As you see, I made another Cowboy theme card … with some Holiday twist ;)

My card today was inspired by my local friends who have the Texas Longhorns wall deco and they decorate the horns with different holiday themes every year. For example, small egg garland for Easter, spiders & spider web for Halloween…and Christmas lights for Christmas, lol.  Since the Christmas is on its way sooner than we think, I decided to decorate KSS Multi Step Texas Longhorns with the smallest light from Multi Step Christmas Lights :):) I hope it makes y’all smile, lol.

SONY DSC

The garlands I created on the card base was used the small pine branch from Multi Step Winter Cardinals and the second smallest lights from Multi Step Christmas Lights. The sentiment was used from Multi Step Cowboy Hat.

These are the steps I did for each image (All inks are Memento):

(Texas Longhorns) 4th – paris dusk, 3rd – rich cocoa, 2nd – potter’s clay, 1st – desert sand

(Pine Branches) 4th – rich cocoa, 2nd – cottage ivy, 1st – bamboo leaves, 3rd– rich cocoa  tip: I used Step 1 with bamboo leaves and filled the spaces of the branches.

(Christmas Lights) lady bug, cottage ivy, cantaloupe

(Sentiment) rhubarb stalk, rich cocoa

Since Halloween is my favorite holiday, I had to make one more Halloween card before moving to the next holidays :):) I used Flourishes Witching You A Happy Halloween set and combined the sketch from SCS Sketch Challenge 303 (SC303). I stamped the witch boot image 3 times, masking the middle boot, and colored them with Copic markers. The bats on the background and sentiment are also from the same set. Happy Wednesday everyone~

I hope your week is so far so good…I’m hanging there but it’s been a little rough :( and now I have a sore throat now…:( Grrrr….

o2010

Anyway, we have another wonderful sketch by Wendy from Repeat Impressions today!! You will have 2 weeks (until Tuesday, Nov 2nd) to enter your card for the challenge over RI Blog “The House That Stamps Built”. All participants will have a chance to win a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate!! I hope you will play along with us! Please check out RI Blog for the more detail.

Here is my card…

SONY DSC

As you see, I changed the size of the card to a square card :) I used this wonderful snow globe image, House Snow Globe (8903-L) from Snow Globes & Ornaments Series. The image was colored with Copic markers and the main mat was softly sponged the edge. The mat looks prettier IRL with the shimmer finish … I just can’t capture it with my poor photo technique :P  I used the designer papers from Basic Gray. The sentiment was used the stamp, Christmas Wishes (8915-D) from the same series. I looped the ribbon & baker’s dozen twine through the sentiment label.

FTTC89 – Focus On The Sentiment

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC89)! It’s my turn to be a challenge host this week. Yay!!  I am challenging you to focus on the sentiment. Create a card or project with the sentiment as the main focus. Easy enough? We would love to see what you create.

I decided to keep my Charismas Spirit since the last week’s challenge :):) I used two wonderful Holiday sets, Santa, I Believe and Sweet of the Season. The design of both sets are absolutely gorgeous! I really enjoy making this card :)

For the background, I stamped the three different images on the white cardstock and colored with Copic markersE31, 33, 35, and 37 are just perfect for the gingerbread cookies!! The focal piece was sponged with Memento Rhubarb Stalk and the greeting was stamped with Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate. To finish off the card, I tied the gingham ribbon and attached the gingerbread cookie cutter charm (found it at a major craft store).

Here is my card.

SONY DSC

Oh my goodness…I love the color combo!! I decided to create the card with using the sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping (FTL112). I found these Prima flowers that were close to the Bermuda Bay and I sprayed the shimmer mist and wrinkle the flower for the distress look. I also added the bead flower brad on the center of the flower. The sentiment and the image are from Verve Stamps. They are simply amazing in my list….:) The only thing I wish I could do better is piercing…I can see it’s not straight and drives me crazy…:P

FTTC88 – Distressed Holiday!

SONY DSC

Happy Tuesday and it is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC88)! Silke Ledlow is our challenge host this week. Silke is challenging us to ink and edge distressing. Ink and distress the edges of your cards to add dimension and texture. We would love to see what you create!

Since Flourishes just kicked the Christmas Week over Flourishes Blog this week, we, FOF team has also planned to post some festivities for this FTTC :):) I decided to play with All That Glitters and Christmas Music set and created this vintage-ish Holiday card.

SONY DSC

When I stamped the music sheet image for the background, I used masking technique a few times so that each music sheet image looked like stacking one layer to another. After I sponged the background with ink, I distressed & torn the edge. I also DTPed VersaMark and heat embossed with gold embossing powder on the edge.

The ornaments were stamped with VersaMark and heat embossed with gold EP as well. then I water colored them with re-inker. I attached the baker’s twine to the ornaments and layered on the Nestabilities mat & paper doily, that was distressed with ink. To finish off the card, I embellished with the lace trim and gold pearls.

Hello everyone~

I hope your weekend was nice and wonderful :):) Mine was….what can I say….it was the one of the most fun and fabulous weekend I had for a long time! I finally got to meet MARIA, CONNIE, LYNN and a wonderful group of ladies at the KSS Houston Workshop for the first time!!!!  Maria brought her best friend, TRACI and her daughter KELLY…they are super fun and sweet!! One of the best moments during the workshop was I also got to meet LYDIA with a total surprise!! Hopefully I will get to meet the rest of KS Crew member in the near feature… I wish we didn’t have to live so apart each other :(

Well, back to the reality (lol) … since it is still a month of October, I decided to make another Breast Cancer Awareness card with Multi Step Ribbons with a Cause for today’s Kitchen Sink Monday :):)

FTTC78 – Cindy’s Sketch

FTTC87Hello everyone~

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC87)! This week Cindy Haffner is hosting. She is challenging us to a sketch she has designed. As far as sketches go, there is not much of an explanation necessary. You can turn it and modify the shapes to fit your size card, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. Good Luck! We cannot wait to see what you create with it!

Here is my card…

Well, I should say “cards” :) I wanted use this fabulous set, Witching You a Happy Halloween but I couldn’t decide which image I wanted to use…so I decided to make 3 note cards, lol. Cindy’s sketch worked for the 3” x 3” card wonderfully!

Each image was colored with Copic markers and I used Lacey Square Nestabilities for the back panels. Then, I tied the baker’s twine around the designer paper border. To finish off, I embellished the rhinestones.

Crew-Challenge-logo

Hello and happy Kitchen Sink Monday!! It’s 1st Monday of the month … that means it’s time for Kitchen Sink Crew Challenge!! The KSCC#28 is hosted by me :) and I’m challenging you all about Halloween!! Halloween is always fun for making treat bags, cards, party favors and even more! How about Halloween scrapbook page?

The challenge due is on Friday, October 22nd. To get more detail about the challenge, please visit KSS Blog.

We'd like to see your spooky and/or fun Halloween project :):)

Here is my Halloween project :)

SONY DSC

What do you think about my coffin treat box?? Thanks to Kim’s blog, I found the template from Martha Stewart website HERE. It’s so fun and perfect for Halloween! After I cut and assembled the box, I stamped the bats and scary faces from Multi Step Owl & Autumn Moon and Multi Step Pumpkins. The same face was used on the label on the casket. The letters “boo!” were stamped with 1/2 pint Playful Alphabet Buddy.

I also made the coordinated card with using Multi Step Owl & Autumn Moon.

These are the steps I did for each image (all inks are from Memento):
(Autumn Moon) 1st – dandelion , 2nd – cantaloupe, 3rd – tangelo

(tree) 1st – rich cocoa, 2nd – tuxedo black
