FTTC124 sketch

Hello everyone~

It’s time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC124)!! Tammy has provided this wonderful sketch for you to play this week! As far as about the sketch, I don’t think I have any explanations but you can always visit Flourishes blog for more detail about how to play. Can’t wait to see your project!!

Here is my card using the sketch.

SONY DSC

I used the beautiful set, Make A Wish. The image was colored with Copic markers (New Leaves Collection, Y11, 13, 15, RV21, 23, 25, BG000, 02, 05, C00, 01, 03). Then I colored it over with Spica glitter pen (very hard to see the sparkle with the photo :P). After I tied the satin ribbon on the card,  I stamped the sentiment on the label 14 Nestabilities die and tied it with the little charm using the baker’s twine. I bought the charm back in 2002 when I just started scrapbooking! I can’t believe I hoarded til now but I’m glad it’s all worked out!

FTTC123–Brown Paper Bag

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

I completely forgot that yesterday was the first day of summer :P It’s been 3 digits temperature every day for the last couple weeks and I was just thinking about when the summer will be over, lol!!

Anyway, I have one card to show you today! I made it for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC123) . Betty is challenging us to use a brown paper bag into your card! What a fun challenge! You can visit Flourishes blog for more detail about how to play. Can’t wait to see your project!!

For the brown bag challenge, I used one sandwich bag and made the flower embellishment. I punched out 8 scalloped circle punch and inked the edge of each circle. Then attached them all together with a brad at the center. To give the dimension and texture, I just crinkled and  squeezed the flower and carefully open each petal. Since the bag was much thinner than cardstock or scrapbook papers, I didn’t have to wet them to crinkle ;) The leaves are made with the leaf punch. I used Garden Fresh set and colored the image with Copic markers (Evergreen and Copper). The sentiment was stamped on the ribbon accent that was cut with the die from Nested Lacey Pennants. I tied the buttons with the paper twine I made with the same brown bag :) Just cut about a 1/4” strip and keep spinning with finger tips and palm until it turned out like twine.

The sketch was used from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge 122 (SSSC122) and Make It Monday with Kraft Outlet Challenge - Welcome Summer. (Thanks for letting me know about the challenge, Elizabeth!)

Hello and happy Kitchen Sink Monday everyone~

The sunflower was stamped with the following steps: 3rd – SU cajun craze, 2nd – SU more mustard, 1st – SU so saffron, 4th – SU so suede, 5th – SU early espresso. The leave & stem were 1st – SU wild wasabi, 2nd – SU old olive, 3rd – SU garden green. I distressed the background layer & the designer paper. Then I added the border and stamped the sentiment with Simple Sentiments. To finish off, I wrapped the twine and added the buttons with twine.

The card has submitted to Tuesday Kitchen Pantry Challenge 19 (KPC19)Distressing and Crazy 4 Challenges 92 (C4C92)add twine, floss, string, etc.

SONY DSC

The next card is made for Monday 10 Minutes Card 24 (10MC24) - incorporate torn paper somewhere in your design. I used 3 Step Hydrangea for the image. I think just stamping the image took the majority of my precious 10 minutes, lol! The hydrangea was stamped with the following steps: 3rd – SU elegant eggplant, 2nd – SU lavender lace, 1st – lavender lace (1 x stamp off), 4th – Memento paris dusk. The leaves were 3rd – Memento cottage ivy, 2nd – Memento bamboo leaves, 1st – Memento new sprout. The sentiment is from 3 Step Daisy. To finish off, I dressed the flourish rhinestones on the bottom of the card.

SONY DSC

I think I’ve made enough father’s day cards this week to stock up for next year, lol. It’s been so fun to play those masculine colors though :) I used Cocoa’s Latte Digi for the image and one of the sentiments from Father’s Day Sentiments Digi Set. The part of the image was paper pieced and the rests were colored with Copic markers. Can you see the dimension of the image? :) To finish off the card, I tied with the baker’s twine.

I used the sketch from Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge 107 clean (MMSC107).

RI Designer’s Choice Challenge–Lynette

SONY DSC

Hello and happy Wednesday everyone~

Wow…this week seems to be going so fast! Maybe my kids are with me all day :) Anyway, it’s time for Designer’s Choice Challenge from Repeat Impressions! It’s Lynette’s turn and she is challenging us to make a father’s day card w/ texture! (I like the twist she added!)

You will have two weeks (by June 21st) to enter your project. For more information about the DCC, please visit The House That Stamps Built (RI blog). Can’t wait your creation!

For my card, I used Large Pine Forest (2709-I) for the image and Father’s Day (1138-E) for the sentiment. I colored the rubber with markers and stamped on the circle mat and simply stamped the sentiment right below the image. For the texture, I used the karki crepe Ruche paper from PaperTemptress. (the texture of the paper is so wonderful IRL!) I also coordinated with the BG designer paper and espresso border. To finish off, I embellished with the olive ribbon, baker’s twine with button and rustic gold pearls.

I used the sketch from Sweet Stop Sketch 111 (SSS111).

FTTC121–Father’s Day Card

SONY DSC

Hello and happy Tuesday everyone~

It’s time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC121). Silke is challenging us to create a card/project for Father’s Day!! You can visit Flourishes blog for more detail about how to play. Can’t wait to see your card/project!

SONY DSC

Even though I made Father’s Day card for the last week’s challenge, it was still fun to make some more masculine card…which I have only few chances to do it since I’m more flower/girly/whimsy kind of girl :) I used What A Catch for the main image and the sentiment and Kids Play for the silhouette on the background. The inspiration was come from Crazy 4 Challenges 90 (C4C90).

I used the glossy cardstock for the background and colored it using the alcohol ink applicator. Instead of using alcohol ink, I dubbed the dye ink re-inkers on the felt applicator, then spray alcohol on the inked applicator and swished through the glossy mat. After the ink was dried well, I sponged the edge with Memento tuxedo black and stamped the image. The black edge was free-hand drawn with Copic marker 110 (I used the chisel tip).

The fish image was colored with Copic markers (Fields, Creamy, Robin’s egg, Spruce, Warm neutrals Collections) and the mat was sponged with light blue and light peach ink.

To finish off the card, I paper pierced the edge of the background mat and added silver pearls on the thin black strips.

KS Monday–For June Wedding

SONY DSC

Hello and happy Kitchen Sink Monday everyone~

Boy, it’s soooo hot here! I just want to melt…. The best way to spend those hot days, just stamp and create, lol! So I did :)

I noticed that I’ve made a couple Father’s Day cards for some challenges but not any cards/projects for the most popular event of June…Wedding! There were a few challenges I wanted to participated and I really liked how it turned out!

I used Multi Step Wedding Rings for the wedding rings and sentiment. The ring image was stamped with the following steps: 4th – Memento tuxedo black (1 x stamp off), 3rd – Memento london fog, 2nd – london fog (1 x stamp off), 1st – Memento desert sand (1 x stamp off). I also used Copic markers for the shadow.

These are the challenges I’ve submitted to…

Happy Friday everyone~

It’s Friday, Friday….lol!! I hope you will have a wonderful weekend. I don’t know if I want to do any outside activities but swimming since we’re expecting triple digits temperature for all weekend and longer :( Maybe stamping/scrapbooking is not a bad idea ;)

It’s time for Sweet ‘N Sassy Digi Challenge (SNSDC5) . The challenge is to create *anything but cards*! What a fun challenge! I think it’s a wonderful way to see what we can do with digital images….I cannot wait to learn what I can do with seeing other wonderful projects! Please visit SNS Digi Challenge blog for more detail about the challenge. Can’t wait to see your creation!

For my project, I decided to create a tissue box cover. I used New Creature Digi set for the butterflies and verse. The tutorial and measurements for the tissue box cover can be found HERE. I created the cover with black and pink cardstock, and DCVW designer papers (the Music Paper Stack…I think it’s discontinued). The butterflies were colored with Copic markers and adhered on the cover. I also embellished the cover with the flowers, black swirl rhinestones. To finish off, I decorated the lace trims (two layers) and thin white dots ribbon. This tissue box cover is for my daughter’s room and I had so much fun to create it … Now, I need to make one for each room in my house!
