KS Monday–Praying For You

 

Hello everyone~

It’s time for Kitchen Sink Monday. I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Since the last Friday morning, I cannot stop thinking about people in Japan. I’m trying to live my life as normal as possible but I’m really having a hard time to deal with my emotion. The good news is that I got hold of my brother in Tokyo and all of my family and friends are safe except one…I still haven’t got hold of one of my high school friends who lives in Sendai, Miyagi. I hope she is OK… I cannot stop watching TV news and follow up online news about the earthquake. I cry every time I watch them but my feeling is nothing to compare with those people who have to face this tragedy right now. I will do what I can do…pray and donate. I believe Japan will be rebuilt and they will be back to a wonderful & beautiful country again just like they did after WWII and other typhoons and earthquakes!

OK, Back to my regular KS Monday post…You can see all of my thoughts and feelings are toward to Japanese people when I was making today’s card ;) I originally wanted to make an Easter card with Multi Step Lilies set and more spring colors but I changed the sentiment to the one from Words of Comfort & Joy set for the last minute and redesigned the whole card….I think it was still turned out pretty.

I used the sketch from Friday Sketch Carte Challenge 11 (FSCC11) . I also combined with these challenges: Tuesday Kitchen Pantry Challenge 9 (KPC09) – Designer Papers and Wednesday Stock Up on Occasion Challenge (KSOCSympathy).

 

 

These are the steps I did for each image:
(Lily) 4th – Memento rhubarb stalk  3rd – rhubarb stalk (1 x stamp off), 2nd – Memento cantaloupe 1st – cantaloupe (1 x stamp off), 5th – Memento rich cocoa

(Leaf & stem) 2nd – Memento bamboo leaves, 1st – Memento new sprout, 3rd – cottage ivy

I have been dying to tell you this super exciting news since last month and I can finally spill out!!

 

I made the “Dirty” Dozen over Splitcoaststampers !!! Yippieeee!!!

 

I’m so thrilled and honored to be amongst with such a huge talented paper crafting team!!! I am also very excited with the other new Dirty Girl, Julie Campbell!!! Congrats Julie!!

Even though it was a month ago I said “Yes!”, I still have to pinch myself from time to time, lol!

I have one more happy thing to celebrate!! Today, Troy and I are celebrating our 15th wedding anniversary!! Like any other couples go through, we’ve cherished our good times and overcome our bad times… I’m so blessed that he is still mine and I am still his…hope God won’t change that for the rest of our lives!

I used the sketch from SCS Sketch challenge 289 (SC289). The stamp image (TSG Make A Wish) was colored with Copic markers.

Speaking of my husband, today is his 36th birthday!! I can't believe it's been 17 years since the day we met for the first time :0 Happy Birthday Troy!!

Our First Gingerbread Cookie House

Hi everyone~ It's Sunday and the last day of the weekend before Christmas Day!! Wow, it's almost the end of year, isn't it?
Just like most of people, I've been a busy bee with getting ready for the big day, plus I've been nursing both of my kids from cold bugs...Although their coughs are still bad, they are feeling much better :):)

Yesterday my mother in law prepared to make a gingerbread house for us. None of us built gingerbread houses before, even my MIL who was a fantastic baker and cake decorator. We had a lot of fun to decorate it and I thought the house was turned out pretty good ;)

Here are some photos for the gingerbread we built. Just remember, it was the first time for all of us, lol.


Do you see the poor snowman?? It's melting for the warm Texas winter, lol.

I have been busy with my kids - the schedules are filled every day this week and weekend!

Our Mini Vacation

As some of you know, Troy and his family had a rough one week. My mojo is also very low at this point after the busy week. However we had a little family vacation during Troy was home. Here are some photos and smiles :) You can click to see the larger images.

I'm back

Hello everyone~
I'm back to home late last night. The memorial service was very nice and touched. Thank you for praying for his family and us. I hope time and love will heal the pains the family is having right now. They are both gone too soon (my DH's friend was 33 and his son was 8 years old) and are deeply missed forever in our life...What we found out after arriving, they both wore the helmets but when the accident was happened, their helmets were come off...Even though we think "what if" over and over, it won't change the fact that we can't bring them back. We just have to learn from it and aware more about motorcycle safety.
I also want to mention that the boy's mother donated his organs to save other lives. I was so touched her decision under these difficult times.

We also had a little time to visit some old friends and do sightseeing. Did I mention we were stationed Ellsworth AFB before? Summer is so beautiful there. Everything seems to be clean and pretty, comparing to the place we live now...Of course I don't miss their long cold winter though, lol. I'm trying to upload some photos later.

On a way home from Dallas/Ft.Worth airport last night, we recieved another tragic news. My brother in law (my DH's brother)'s best friend and his girlfriend were dead last night. I don't want to tell the details because it is such a shocking news for both his and her family and friends.
I'm just praying they are going to find some peace and comfort during these difficult times.

No cards to show you today (and a couple days).... I just want to let you know that I'm leaving for South Dakota to attend a memorial service for my husband's best friend and his son. They were killed by a motorcycle accident last Friday...I can't even have a word to describe what his wife and family are going through right now. We all have devastated the sad news....
Please wear your helmet even when you are going to ride a block. Please...


I will be back on Thursday night and hope I go back to my room to make something to show you for this weekend. The good thing is There She Goes Sneak Peek is already scheduled for Saturday :)

Blueberry Picking

Hello everyone~
Yesterday, we did blueberry picking to Blueberry Hill Farm, Edom Texas, about 2 hours driving from our house. We had such a fun time and I want to share some photos :) (you can click the photos to see the enlarged images.)

昨日は、車で2時間ほどのところにあるブルーベリヒルーファームを訪れ、ブルーベリーを採ってきました。少しだけ、昨日の様子をアップしておきます。(写真はクリックすると拡大できます）

楽しい時間を締めくくるのに、こういう写真を親の為に撮らないといけない子供達。。。(笑）

I will recommend to visit the farm for all of you. I also suggest to go early because Texas heat will get you ;) The farm opens at 7:00 am.

近辺にお住まいの方は、是非訪れてみてはいかがですか?家族で楽しめますよ。でも、テキサスの暑さに負けないように、できるだけ早い時間に行くことをお勧めします。ファームは、朝7時から開いています。

Guess who turned 8!

TGIF everyone~
Another no cards day from me... To tell the truth, I havn't touched stamps for the last couple days!! My DS, Trey is the one of the reasons to keep me out from the stamp room :)

April 23rd is Trey's birthday and he is 8 years old now!!!

He doesn't look a baby anymore although he is always my baby (sigh)... He loves Transformers, Ben 10, Pokemon and Wii. He is very smart (probably smarter than Mommy and Daddy, lol) and his sense of houmor is something God gave him. We believe he was born to be a comedian.

I've been cleaning and shopping for his party. I hope I get to have a time to stamp this weekend. Well, I just want to say "Hi" and I hope you will have a great weekend. xoxo

4月23日は、トレイの誕生日で、8才になりました!!!

何時までも、私のベイビーですが、この写真だともう赤ちゃんではありませんね~(淋）トラスフォーマー、ベン10、ポケモン、そしてＷｉｉが大好きで、とても賢いです（多分、父母よりも）。それに、彼のユーモアのセンスは、神様からのギフトだと思うくらい面白い子で、将来はコメディアンにでもなれるかな(笑）

今は、誕生日パーティーの準備で、掃除や買い物の合間にこの日記を更新しました。土曜日か日曜日にでも、またスタンプが出来ればと思っています。皆さんも良い週末をお過ごし下さい。それでは。

Happy Birthday, Kimberly!!

January 29th is my daughter, Kimberly's birthday!!! She is 11 years old today!!
She is growing a very kind hearted person. And she is just soooo beautiful to ME :)

Taylor Swift is her idol right now. Her brother got her album for the birthday gift even though he complains "Love Story" is playing over and over in his head, lol. They get along most of the time, you know ;)


I love you, Kimmie. You made me a better mother and person. Thank you for coming to my life.

I'm alive

Hello everyone~
I'm sorry that I've been away from my blog last few days.
I was so busy with major cleaning and organizing throughout the house and helped Troy (my DH) put the sliding door in the wall where the windows were used to be (well, he & his uncle did most of the part. I just supervised, hehe) My PC was used to be at the same wall and I had to turned it off for 2 days.
I moved my PC to my stamp room and finally sat in the chair! I'm so happy that all of my stuff is in the one place now :)
If I had a bathroom in my stamp room, I would never come out from the room, except when I had to eat, lol.

Anyway, I will be back to business tomorrow.
