Yesterday, I went to my SU demo’s holiday workshop and I bought 10 sets of cardstock…yep, it’s a time to stock up! Three of the colors of ACT56 are in my order! So, you can tell I LOVE the color combo :)

Here is my card…

SONY DSC

Another holiday is just around the corner and I decided to create the card before I gear up for Christmas projects :) I used the sets, Gobble! (turkey & sign), A Drink A Day (table) and In Stitches (cross stitches) from There She Goes. Before the Gobble! set, I had only one turkey stamp…I’m very glad another turkey joined my stamp collection finally, lol!

I did some paper piecing, coloring with Copic markers and paper toile. For embellishment, I used those tiny pearls.

To finish off the card, I embellished with glittered poinsettia with satin ribbon and rhinestones. The edge of the sentiment mat was decorated with Stickles.

Happy Wednesday everyone~

Thank God … we finally had rain!! Although my son’s school trip to zoo was postponed to Thursday, we desperately needed this rain … plus, I don’t mind to stay in my studio for more stamping, hehe. I hope it will stop for tomorrow though …  so that 4th graders can have a wonderful time…(knock on wood)

Anyway, we have another wonderful sketch by Wendy from Repeat Impressions today!! All participants will have a chance to win a $25 Repeat Impressions gift certificate!! I hope you will play along with us! Please check out RI Blog for the more detail.

Here is my card.

I flipped the sketch and made another Christmas card using Joy Penguins (8811-K) from Christmas Penguins collection. Aren’t they cute or what? The image was colored with Copic markers and I sponged the edge of the mat. The rose pink square was embossed with CB embossing folder. Since I used the busy designer paper, I added the photo corners to show the dew drops on the corners.

FTTC91–Inspiration Challenge

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC91)! This week Betty Wright is hosting. Betty is challenging us to find inspiration with Cafe Baudelaire prints. Visit the site and choose a picture that inspires you. The images are French shabby chic, but that style card or project is not required. We would love to see your take with your card making style.

My card for the challenge was inspired by this picture:

il_fullxfull.166522914

I used the rose image from A Year in Flowers 2 and it was colored with Copic markers (Hollyhock Collection & Evergreen Collection). For the sentiment, I stamped the word “Hello” from Cherry Blossoms set. The frame was created with Label 15 Nestablities … I became a huge fan of Aga Trawinska’s work when she showed us her gorgeous creations over the Spellbinders Blog (she just finished all of her posts as the International Guest Blogger). I LOVE how she sponged the frame between the dies…another fun way to use the Nestabilities dies! I also used the Cuttlebug border die for the decorative black borders.  To finish off, I attached the pearls and the seam binding ribbon bow.

RI SOTW–Week of Nov 1st, 2010

SONY DSC

Hello again,

Today is another Stamp of the Week from Repeat Impressions. This week’s SOTW is this adorable teddy bear stamp, Christmas Teddy (2007-I). The SOTW is available exclusively to our RI blog readers at 50% OFF with the special discount code from Mon, Nov 1st – Sun, Nov 7th. To get the discount code and more information about the SOTW, please go to the RI blog “The House That Stamps Built”.

I had so much fun with creating today’s card! I used Rocking Horse (117-I) and Toy Train (628-I) with the Christmas Teddy. When I stamped each image, I used the masking. The result after maksing is always so exciting…to me, it’s similar to unwrap the gifts, lol. All images were colored with Copic markers and then I simply stamped the greeting, Christmas (1141-F) beneath of the image. To finish off, I embellished with the ribbon on the bottom and buttons on the corner.

The color combo was based on The Color Throwdown Challenge 116 (CTD116)…can’t ignore this beautiful combo even it was too late to submit!

The challenge due is on Friday, November 19th. To get more detail about the challenge, please visit KSS Blog. We are looking forward to seeing your monochromatic project!

Here is my take…

My husband’s cousin is getting married this weekend and I decided to make a wedding card using their wedding color. I used Multi Step Wedding Couple for the main image. The swirls on the background were stamped with Big & Bold Swashes and the words, Best Wishes were stamped with Multi Step Wedding Rings. I used lace trim around the navy blue oval layer. To finish off, I embellished the tea roses on the sentiment label.
