FTTC60 -- Denise's Inspiration Challenge

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC60) ! It is the last Tuesday of the month so we have us a challenge host. This month's challenge host is Denise Marzec(Peanutbee) ! Denise is challenging us to an Inspiration Challenge! Denise has chosen three gorgeous pictures to get inspired by for our card making. Pick one or do all three during the week. We would love to see what you create!

I picked this photo below for my inspiration!

I used Strawberries set and colored with Copic markers. I also took the colors of red & blue, gingham patterns and the shape of the plate as the inspirations to create my card.
The background dp is from Basic Gray Nook & Pantry and I used the gingham ribbon and the rhinestone brads to embellish the card.

To honor Denise, I also decorated the inside of the card...you probably know that her cards are super pretty inside also :)

Now, check out what the rest of FOF have created for the challenge!!

Denise (Guest Hostess)

KS Monday -- Mar 29th, 2010

Hello and happy Kitchen Sink Monday everyone~
Spring Break is over here and kids are going back to school! I enjoyed having kids at home and we also went to San Antonio TX for Kimberly's Cheer Competition at Six Flags last Saturday... the last competition for the season!! She and all kids in the team worked so hard and I'm so proud of them! Of course Six Flags are so much fun :):)

For today's card, I was thinking about the holiday...well, Easter is coming this weekend and I wanted to do something different with Nesting Dolls set. I first started to work on the background with heat embossing the egg image using VearsaMark and white EP. Next, I sponged the background with Memento tangelo, cantaloupe and new sprout. Then, I stamped the flower images with the same colors. I used the same color combo for each letter of the greeting, using 1/2 Pint Playful Alphabet Buddy set. To embellish the card, I attached the butterflies with rhinestones.
All papers are from St. Patty's KSS Green Paper Package by Paper Temptress and I used the sketch from Clean & Simple Stamping (FTL83).

TSG47 -- One Layer Card

Hello everyone~
It's going to be a quick post...this card was my take on There She Goes challenge 47 (TSG47), one layer card!! Yeah...easy to say but hard to make for me, lol.
I used my new favorite set, Dance. It's not too much to say about the technique but I draw the line around the quote instead of having the layer. The flowers on the background were stamped with 2 different shade of pink. The main flowers were colored with Copic marker.

There She Goes is doing the new release sneak peek this week! The Trendsetters are doing a super fabulous job for the Sneak Peeks as always. Can't wait to get those new sets :):)

Stamps: Dance (TSG)
Paper: ivory cardstock
Ink:
Memento rich cocoa, angel pink, rose bud, SU chocolate chip marker
Accessaries: pearls

Thank you for stopping by. I'm coming back for Kitchen Sink Monday! Hope you all have a wonderful weekend :)

FTTC59 -- Fake it!!

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC59) ! This week Betty Wright is our host. Betty is challenging us to fake it! We are using faux techniques this week on our cards and projects. There are a list of many amazing faux ideas in the Tutorial section at SCS. Check them out here. So, create something faux fabulous with us this week. We would love to see what you create!

My card was used two faux techniques - Faux Tearing and Faux Wood Frame. You can find the tutorials to just click the name of the technique. For the faux tearing, I added the white line with the white pigment ink & blender pen on the edge of the tearing to give more detail. When I created the faux wood frame, I used the forest branch embossing folder to create the wood lines...simply because I don't own the distress stripe embossing folder :p

The tearing background was stamped with Basket Weave stamp. The Daffodil image from A Year in Flowers 1 set was stamped on the watercolor paper and water colored with reinker. I also did paper tole for the some of the flowers. The greeting was stamped with Tag Lines set (Happy) and Seasonal Wreaths set (spring).

The card is also enter Our Creative Corner - Spring/Easter themed card challenge (OCCC) and Crazy 4 Challenges - Spring card challenge (C4C29).

Now, check out what the rest of FOF have created for the challenge!!

KS Monday -- Mar 22nd, 2010

Hello and happy Kitchen Sink Monday everyone~
Right after the first day of spring, we had snow in TX, lol. It had been warm and pleasant for the last one week so that this cold weather was like eating sour grapes :( At least we can enjoy feeling spring in the card world, right?

To create the main panel, I used 3 Step Hey Chick! and stamped the chick images first. Then with Multi Step Clovers & Shamrocks, I stamped the clovers randomly from the chick's feet to below. The little flowers were also stamped from the Hey Chick! set. I sponged the sky with Memento summer sky.
The all papers except the designer paper and pink label mat are from PaperTemptress - St. Patty's KSS Green Package. I created the border on the bottom of the card with the Martha Stewart border punch. The ribbon & rhinestones were used for the embellishments.

These are the steps I did for each image (all inks are Memento unless mentioned):
(all clovers) 1st - pear tart, 2nd - bamboo leaves, 3rd - cottage ivy
(chicks) 4th - rich cocoa, 3rd - desert sand, 2nd - cantaloupe, 1st - dandelion
(flowers) rose bud

TSG46 & CTD84

Happy Spring everyone~
I hope you are having a wonderful weekend. My kids are going to have Spring Break next week so I'm probably going to cut down my stamping time and enjoy spending a time with them.

Today's card is used the sketch from There She Goes challenge 46 (TSG46). I also combined the color combo from Color Throwdown (CTD84). I already wanted to use the set, Loads of Fun for the sketch and I thought the color combo would be great with the washer and dryer image :)
The image was colored with Copic markers. The sentiment says "Around here, 'Normal' is just a setting on the washing machine"... just like my house, lol.

Stamps: Loads of Fun (TSG)
Paper: tangeling tango, soft sky, white, black, SU retired dp
Ink:
Memento tuxedo black, soft sky, taken with teal, Copic markers, white gel pen
Accessaries: pearls, ribbon, button

Thank you for stopping by. Have a wonderful weekend!

FTTC58 -- Sketch Challenge by Silke

Happy Tuesday everyone~
It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC58) ! This week Silke Ledlow is our challenge host! Silke has designed a sketch for us to try. Actually, Silke designed two sketches. Are you are feeling the round or the square? You could be feeling a bit of both and play twice! As far as sketches go, you can turn them increase or decrease the sizes a bit, but in the end, it should still look like the sketch. We would love to see what you create with us this week!

My card was used Sketch 2 and I used the newest release set, Easter Baskets set. I love making Easter cards - they are usually used springy colors that make me happy & smile :) Speaking of the spring colors, I used the color combo from Our Creative Corner challenge ...hosted by Silke!
Each image was colored with Copic markers and adhered where the star was on the sketch. I used the flower Nestabilities for the one of the circle layers. The corners on the designer paper was punched with decorative corner punch and I adhered the matching punched border on the top of the card. The ribbon and pearls are attached to complete the card.

Now, check out what the rest of FOF have created for the challenge!!

This set is just overflowing with possibilities – and as you make the rounds, you'll see why! This set will be released right after our Power Hour Release Party TONIGHT. The party starts at 9 PM CST in our SCS Member Company Forum!

Here is my take on the green & pink challenge :):)
Easter Basket set is very pretty and the images definitely have Lauren Pope's vintage art style :):) -- reminds me those vintage children books, which I got inspired when I created this card.
I used the designer paper from Making Memories for the background and it was zig zag stitched. On the top note classic ivory mat, I stamped the eggs and glass images (some of the eggs were masked also) with Memento rich cocoa and colored with Copic markers. I stamped the bow image twice and colored with Copic markers as well. They were trimmed and adhered on the two corners of the top note mat.
The main mat was created with Nestabilities die and the greeting and rabbit image were stamped. For the finish touch, I attached the rhinestones. I think I used the same rhinestones a lot this week, didn't I? What can I say...I love bling, lol :):)

Now, check out what these Flourishes DT and FOF have created using Easter Basket!!
