FTTC86 – Harvest Home!

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC86)! It is the end of the month so we have a challenge host! This month's host is Debbie Marcinkiewicz! Debbie is challenging us create a card, project or gift set with a fall/harvest theme using green, brown, orange/russet, and cream! We would love to see what you create!

Fall finally came to Texas yesterday!! Unfortunately I don’t think we can see the beautiful fall leaves since we didn’t have enough rain this year…:( So, I decided to create this CAS fall card using Cottage Home set just thinking about the gorgeous Upstate NY fall scene where my MIL is from :):) (You cannot even compare the real one with my quickly colored image though…) The image was colored with Copic makers. When I colored the grass ground, I lightly dotted the markers instead of stroking them. I used the greeting from Falling Leaves set. To finish off, I embellished with the lace trim and rhinestones.

This card is also submitted to Clean & Simple Stamping (FTL109).

Be sure to check out other FOF’s creations!

I also used the sketch from SCS Sketch Challenge 299 (SC299).

This is my take on the sketch. I rotated the sketch to fit my stamped image :)

SONY DSC

I used the newly released set Multi Step Lil’ Elephant for the main image. Isn’t it adorable?? I love the sentiments that come with the image…I’ve having “tons of fun!” for playing the set, hehe. The flower images of the borders are from another newly released set, Multi Step Ribbons with a Cause. The colors are inspired from the desginer paper I used.

These are the steps I did for each image:
(Elephant) 2nd – SU crumb cake, 1st – SU crumb cake (1 x stamp off), repeat 1st step, 3rd – SU soft suede (1 x stamp off), 4th – SU soft suede

FTTC84 – Spotlight Technique

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

It is time for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge(FTTC84)!! This week Barbara Anders is hosting. Barbara is challenging us to the spotlight technique. Just click HERE to check a spotlight tutorial from SCS. This is a fun technique that often gets overlooked. Give it a try! We would love to see what you create!

SONY DSC  I am the one who overlook this technique. I think I have done it once before but I didn’t know it was called “Spotlight technique”:P  It gives another perspective for the stamped image doesn’t it?

I picked Sunflowers set for spotlighting. I originally planned doing only one spotlight for the image (the one with the ladybug) but I decided to add a couple more spotlights :):) The colored parts were done with Copic markers. I used the decorative border punch for the BG Origins designer paper and suede cardstock and created the scalloped designs. To finish off, it was embellished with rhinestones & cotton ribbon.

Be sure to check out other FOF’s creations!
