KS Monday - Just Because

SONY DSC

Hello everyone~

It’s Monday and also time for Kitchen Sink Monday! I made one card using the sketch from Friday Sketch Carte Challenge (FSCC31) and CR84FN Color Challenge 35 (CR84FN35).

As soon as I saw the color combo, I knew what I wanted to use for the image ;) I used Multi Step Lilacs, and Simple Sentiments for the saying. I kept clean to emphasize the softness of the lilac… I can say, “Less is More” for this one :)

I stamped the lilac was stamped as following these steps: 4th – Memento grape jelly, 3rd – Memento lilac posies, 2nd – Memento lulu lavender, 1st – lulu lavender (1 x stamp off). Then, I masked the lilac and stamped leaves & step with : 3rd – Memento bamboo leaves, 2nd – Memento new sprout, 1st – new sprout (1 x stamp off).

I edged and sponged lightly with Memento london fog. To finish off, I embellished with baker’s twine and silver pearls.

FTTC129–Favorite Flowers

SONY DSC

Happy Tuesday everyone~

So, it’s August now and I was wondering if your area is burning hot right now… In the north east Texas, we are having extremely hot and dry conditions, and looks like that is still continued through out next 7 days. My son’s first football practice was held yesterday and the temperature was still 105 degree at 6 pm!  I’m just glad all boys were tough enough … I was sweating just sitting on my picnic chair, lol! It’s too hot for me to enjoy being outside…cannot wait the cooler weather!

Anyway, in my cool stamping room, I made a card for Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge (FTTC129) . Betty is challenging us to create a card/project using the favorite flower (or flowers)!! you can visit Flourishes blog for more information about the challenge. Can’t wait to see your beautiful flower creation!

SONY DSC

I have a quite few favorite flowers and Flourishes carries so many beautiful flowers. The hardest one was which sets I wanted to use for the challenge! I finally picked Sunflowers because it’s most popular flower in summer time and my favorite summer flower too. I colored the image with Copic markers (Sunflower, Evergreen and Flesh Tones 2), trimmed and adhered on the card. The pennants were stamped with Birthday Pennants and cut with Spellbinders Lacey Nested Pennants. The three small banners and sentiment banner were also cut with the same pennants die set. The card was designed by following the sketch from Mojo Monday Sketch 202 (MOJO202). To finish off, I embellished with the black rhinestones.

For my card, I decided to color the image with sepia tones  (Copic markers – E30, 31, 33, 34, 35, 37 and 80)…something nostalgic about the image. Maybe she reminds of me when I was little, lol. The blue panel was stamped with Sandcastle (9016-M) and I used the sentiment Wish You Were (2821-H). To finish off the card, I dressed with the brown & blue pearls.
